    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Member Care Specialist I is responsible for providing frontline support to members. Plays a vital role in delivering a positive member experience by responding to phone calls and emails, processing dues payments, and assisting with membership operations, including club chartering and disbanding. Ensures timely, accurate, and courteous service that reflects SIA’s values and commitment to empowering women and girls.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide high-quality member support by responding to inquiries from members, clubs, and regions via phone and email, ensuring accurate and timely information.
    • Process member and club dues, including transaction forms (5008, 5010, 200), and allocate payments (cash, wires, credit cards) accurately in the membership system; make necessary adjustments to balance dues and manage AR/AP.
    • Maintain and update member and club records to ensure data accuracy, including processing membership changes (new members, terminations, status changes) and supporting monthly data validation efforts.
    • Assist with the administrative processing of newly chartered and disbanding clubs, including accurate data entry, record setup, and validation in collaboration with the Manager, Membership.
    • Document new membership procedures in partnership with Membership and cross-departmental staff to ensure consistent and current workflows.
    • Coordinate with departmental leads to gather talking points and FAQs, enhancing first-touch resolution for member inquiries.
    • Support training for new and temporary Membership staff on database procedures and membership systems.
    • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with other departments to support broader membership engagement and service strategies.
    • Support the biennial Convention event as required.
    • Create and maintain surveys and forms in platforms such as JotForm.
    • Operate SIA online store, including communicating with vendors and customers, coordinating payments, resolving issues, updating the storefront, and tracking sales data to inform strategic decisions.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Required:

    • High school graduate
    • Minimum of two years of related business experience
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office & familiarity with database concepts
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
    • Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to supervise, lead and develop teams.
    • Friendly, can-do attitude and professional demeanor.
    • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others in a professional and business-like manner.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Ability to travel, attend and participate in Soroptimist meetings onsite or offsite as needed.
    • Strong interest in the Soroptimist mission, women’s issues, and volunteer service.

    Preferred:

    • Salesforce experience
    • Baccalaureate degree
    • Fluent in Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, or Portuguese.
    • Experience working with volunteers/
    • Global exposure and/or experience.
