    Position: Education & Engagement Programs Manager

    Department: Education & Engagement

    Reports to: Director of Education & Engagement

    FLSA Classification: Full-time, Salary Non-Exempt

    Salary Range: $60-70k, overtime eligible after 40 hours within a work week

    Work Location: Downtown Seattle. The 5th Avenue Theatre Company administrative office

    is located within Skinner Building (1326 5th Avenue, Suite 735). This position requires

    onsite engagement but is eligible for occasional remote work with supervisor approval.

    Position Summary:

    The Education & Engagement Programs Manager collaborates with the Education &

    Engagement team to manage programs and partnerships that advance and deepen The

    5th's strategic goals. Serving as a key liaison, this role connects The 5th with students,

    families, local schools, school districts, educators, teaching artists, community

    organizers, community organizations and partnerships, and more.

    The Programs Manager will manage and support impactful programs fostered within the

    foundations of equity, anti-racism, and social justice. This position drives both internal and

    external programming, overseeing essential administrative and operational logistics,

    including contract management, event and program execution, recruitment support, and

    data/file system maintenance. This position requires some evening, weekend, and special

    events work.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Department Administration & Operations

    Lead execution of core education and engagement initiatives and programming,

    including but not limited to Rising Star Project, production-enrichment

    programming and events, Community Ticket Program, professional development,

    community engagement and partnership programming, and other designated

    programming that will fluctuate from season to season

    Partner and collaborate with the Education & Engagement team to streamline daily

    operations, tracking department milestones and deadlines

    Design and manage/maintain program tracking systems to evaluate metrics,

    analyze outcomes or impact, and measure success against strategic goals

    Draft, compile, and edit key departmental assets, including guest artist contracts,

    website content, newsletters, event memos and more, ensuring consistent, brand aligned

    messaging

    Serve as the primary manager and point of contact for programs calendar and

    internal event support logistics

    Support other administrative needs including but not limited to budget and expense

    tracking and maintaining department event equipment and supplies

    Act as a key liaison across organization teams to champion a holistic, organization wide

    vision of engagement, aligning efforts across promotional, fundraising, and

    educational goals.

    Programming & Events Activation

    Collaborate with the Director of Education & Engagement to research, develop, and

    produce impactful program content that aligns with The 5th's vision and artistic

    mission

    Serve as the primary on-site manager for designated programs, overseeing setup,

    breakdown, supply logistics, guest artist/teaching artist needs, and

    patron/participant registration and check-in.

    Collaborate on day-of event strategy, managing staffing plans, schedules, and

    event flow to ensure a seamless and positive participant experience

    Represent The 5th at designated public tabling events, community gatherings or

    events, and other off-site activities to build meaningful relationships and foster in person

    connections.

    Advocate for and strictly uphold child safety policies, protocols, and the highest

    standards of well-being for all youth and community participants

    Cultivate a deep appreciation for musical theater, performing arts education, and

    community-centered engagement across all program touchpoints

    Qualifications:

    Strong interpersonal communication skills

    Strong organizational skills

    Ability to work independently and proactively, taking initiative and managing

    deadlines

    Experience as a teaching artist, community organizer, or working with other

    performing arts education and engagement programs a plus

    Experience managing events a plus

    Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, and/or Tessitura a plus

    Weekend and evening availability (required)

    The 5th Avenue Theatre is a fast-paced, collaborative workplace. Staff may be required to

    work in shared environments and engage with the public. Remote work arrangements are

    Ability to perform administrative tasks using a computer, such as creating and

    reviewing documents, entering data, and communicating electronically. This may

    involve sitting at a workstation for extended periods and can be done using a

    keyboard, mouse, or assistive technology.

    Ability to communicate in person with colleagues across a multi-level facility

    (including offices, theater, and workshop spaces). This may involve moving between

    spaces with varied lighting and sound, or asking others to come to a central office

    location as needed.

    Ability to travel to and be present at on- and off-site special events in varied spaces,

    some of which may be potentially non-ADA-compliant.

    Ability to transport materials, set up and breakdown events with or without support.

    This job does not require a vehicle, but it may be helpful for off-site needs.
