    About the Organization

    Justice Catalyst Access Fund (JCAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides flexible, no risk, recyclable, financial support to social impact litigators at scale. We currently support over 80 nonprofits and mission driven law firms as part of a $30 million fund. Our team works remotely. The Executive Director is based in Charlottesville VA, and the Deputy Director is based in New Orleans, LA.

    About the Role

    JCAF is seeking a highly organized and proactive Operations Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations and administration of the organization. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives on keeping multiple priorities moving, enjoys improving systems and processes, and is comfortable working across administration, finance, communications, and operations.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our team stays organized and our internal operations run smoothly. You'll work across a wide variety of projects, requiring strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operations

    • Support day-to-day operations and serve as a reliable point person for a variety of operational requests
    • Serve as a point of contact for JCAF recipients and assist and support our diligence, onboarding, fund management and reporting processes
    • Assist with management of Investment Committees + Board of Directors
    • Help identify opportunities to improve workflows and administrative processes and troubleshoot problems as they arise

    Administrative Support

    • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Executive Director, Deputy Director, and other JCAF staff as needed
    • Schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings, including calendar management across multiple staff members
    • Manage and respond to shared email inboxes
    • Format, proofread, and prepare documents
    • Serve as a go-to resource for general administrative needs across the team

    Finance

    • Manage reimbursements for staff
    • Liaise with banks and financial institutions as needed

    Communications

    • Edit and proofread written materials
    • Make light graphic and formatting updates to organizational collateral
    • Manage & update website content hosted in Squarespace
    • Ensure materials are accurate, polished, and aligned with organizational branding
    • Support grant reporting by gathering documentation and coordinating submission requirements
    • Support fundraising work by maintaining materials, data rooms and tracking processes

    Human Resources

    • Coordinate hiring processes
    • Manage the administrative and operational onboarding of new staff (e.g., equipment setup, account provisioning, welcome logistics)
    • Serve as the liaison between employees and external IT support providers

    Qualifications

    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
    • The ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines
    • Strong written editing and proofreading skills
    • Comfort making basic graphic edits
    • Confidence learning and using new technology platforms
    • Experience with (or ability to quickly learn) Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Airtable, DocuSign, Zoom, and Squarespace
    • Professional communication skills and judgment when handling confidential information
    • A collaborative approach and a willingness to take initiative
    • Comfort working in a small team that combines startup orientation with a high level of professionalism
    • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds (e.g., packing/shipping equipment) may be required

    Preferred Experience

    • 3–5 years of experience in operations, administration, executive support, or a similar role
    • Experience working with grants, nonprofit operations, or foundations is an asset
    • Familiarity with bookkeeping, expense management, or financial administration is beneficial
