    About the role:

    Our organization is seeking a Sector Lead – Agriculture & Food Systems to lead high-impact accelerator programs focused on agriculture, land restoration, and nature-based solutions. This role will drive startup acceleration, technical assistance, go-to-market strategy execution, and ecosystem partnerships. The individual will work closely with startups, FPOs, investors, and government stakeholders to build scalable, market-ready enterprises delivering measurable social and environmental impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    Acceleration & Enterprise Support

    • Lead and execute agriculture-focused accelerator programs.
    • Provide hands-on technical assistance to startups to strengthen product-market fit and accelerate sales.
    • Support enterprises in refining business models, scaling operations, and achieving impact goals.
    • Work closely with FPOs and intermediaries to validate and strengthen enterprise models.
    • Lead technical and commercial pilots to demonstrate on-ground viability and scalability.

    Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement

    • Build and manage relationships with startups, impact investors, research bodies, FPO networks, and relevant government agencies.
    • Facilitate collaborations to unlock financing, market access, and growth opportunities.

    Data, Insights & Communication

    • Generate program insights through field visits, enterprise performance tracking, and data analysis.
    • Develop high-quality reports for donors and partners.
    • Support program visibility through ecosystem communication, content creation, and stakeholder updates.

    Team Leadership

    • Lead and mentor a small team, ensuring strong execution, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

    Required Qualifications & Skills:

    • Masters degree in Agriculture, Agri-business, Agri-finance, Economics, or related fields.
    • 15–20 years of experience in agriculture, rural sales/marketing, agri-business, impact investing, or social entrepreneurship.
    • Proven track record of managing complex, field-driven projects with measurable outcomes.
    • Strong understanding of rural markets, financing models, and enterprise development.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and partnership-building skills.
    • Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities.
    • Financial acumen (understanding financial statements/investment structures) is an added advantage.
    • High ownership, entrepreneurial mindset, and strong communication skills.
