STATUS: Non-Exempt/Full-Time and Non-Exempt/Part-Time

SCHEDULE: Full-Time: 37.5 hours per week /Part-Time: Up to 30 hours per week

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations and Warehouse Team Leads

LOCATION: Leesburg and Sterling, Virginia

POSITION SUMMARY

This hands-on position is ideal if you enjoy working with people, collaborating with a team, and making a tangible difference in the community. As a Distribution Center and Warehouse Associate, you will work closely with dedicated volunteers and community partners to keep our daily operations running smoothly. Operating in a dynamic warehouse and marketplace environment, you will use your strong problem-solving skills to ensure an efficient, welcoming shopping experience for our clients.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

• Receiving & Logistics: Receive, unload, process, and store incoming food donations and orders while maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Food Processing & Quality Assurance: Sort and process both perishable and non-perishable food items following specific food storage guidelines.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain a tidy, safe, and accessible warehouse, including recycling and overseeing waste and compost.

Market Operations & Team Support

• Create Market Flow: Stock and stage products to ensure a smooth, efficient shopping experience for clients while providing excellent customer service.
• Volunteer Support: Coordinate tasks and support volunteers working throughout the facility.
• Event Assistance: Help execute special events both on-site and off-site.
• Flexible Support: Complete general warehouse operations, facility cleaning, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education & Logistics

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Location Flexibility: Ability to work at both our Leesburg and Sterling locations as needed.

Experience & Operations

• Warehouse Experience: Background managing inventory, supplies, or equipment.
• Stock & Delivery: Experience receiving and processing inventory or delivering goods.
• Data Management: Skill in maintaining reliable, accurate records for reporting.
• Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Physical Requirements & Certifications

• Physical Capability: Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Forklift Certification: Ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
• Food Safety Certification: Ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
