Sudan Relief Fund (SRF) is a faith-based humanitarian organization serving communities in Sudan and South Sudan. We focus on emergency food aid, clean water, healthcare, education, and long-term development, in close partnership with trusted local leaders. Sudan and South Sudan together represent one of the most severe humanitarian crises on earth.
Position Overview
SRF is seeking a Development Associate to work closely with the Senior Vice President in managing donor engagement, coordinating fundraising efforts, and supporting a wide range of development activities.
This is a remote position with a flexible schedule, ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Occasional travel may be required.
This is a high-trust role with room for professional growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Engagement: Assist in drafting thank-you letters, email updates, and donor reports. Help coordinate personalized outreach to major and mid-level donors.
- Fundraising Support: Prepare proposals, assist with grant submissions, and help organize fundraising campaigns.
- Data & Records: Maintain accurate donor data using internal tracking systems. Generate reports, and track donor interactions
- Research: Identify new donors and funding opportunities. Compile background materials and briefing notes.
- Special Projects: Support the development and distribution of donor-facing materials, printed collateral, and digital content.
- Administrative Support: Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and assist with travel logistics and internal planning.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Independent, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks without close supervision
- Comfortable using donor management platforms or willing to learn quickly
- U.S.-based, with reasonable access to a major airport
- Strong alignment with SRF’s mission and faith-based values
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in nonprofit development, donor engagement, or grant writing
