    Description

    This new position will help Upper Valley Baroque grow by using marketing and communications skills and knowledge to promote each concert and concert season to key audiences. The Marketing & Communications Manager will plan and implement specific tactics to “fill the halls & build the brand”. They will also assume primary responsibility for Ticketing & Box Office functions. Duties and hours of this position will be mutually agreed upon by the President, Business Manager, and candidate.

    Job Type: Year-Round, Part-Time (approximately 20 hours/week). Hybrid Remote/In-person position. Requires on-site presence for concert weeks (currently 5 per season) and for occasional planning sessions in Hanover NH and surrounding area. Location: NH or VT preferred, with some flexibility.

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    UVB is seeking an experienced and highly organized professional with a musical background and/or interest in classical music. Key qualifications include:

    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
    • Fluency in technology and computer skills including Google Drive, Office, MailChimp, Squarespace, social media platforms, and basic graphics software
    • Experience in project planning, coordination, and time management
    • Knowledge of the Upper Valley/Northern New England region (preferred)
    • Photography, video editing, or multimedia storytelling skills a plus

    The Marketing & Communications Manager must have positive energy and communication skills, be collaborative, accountable, and highly professional.

    Key Duties:

      • Develop and implement multi-channel communications to promote UVB concerts and events
      • Create series of emails (MailChimp) to build ticket sales for each concert
      • Research and target publicity channels for existing and new markets (local and regional news outlets, radio, listservs, etc.)
      • Utilize social media to build UVB’s professional profile and audiences
      • Collaborate in drafting and sending Press Releases to targeted outlets
      • Manage/update content on UVB website (i.e. concerts, events, media posts)
      • Develop and manage master schedule for all communications
      • Measure effectiveness of marketing & communications tactics (key metrics)
      • Manage databases related to audience, media, and possibly donor contacts
      • Assemble graphic elements (photos and other) for use by UVB staff & board
      • Ensure that photos are taken at each concert week and educational event
      • Research and recommend graphics for all applications
      • Maintain and improve relevant filing systems
      • Create and distribute other supporting elements
      • May include recordings, presentations, direct mail, and concert programs
      • Manage the Box Office, linking marketing initiatives to ticket sales.
      • Support Educational initiatives, including publication of UVB’s newsmagazine, Grace Notes.
      • Support Development initiatives, including providing content elements to grantwriting team and donor communications.
      • Assist leadership team with tasks throughout each concert week
