    CONECT (Congregations Organized for a New Connecticut) seeks a full-time Operations Manager to work with its organizing staff, leaders, and member institutions under the supervision of and with the support of the Lead Organizer. CONECT organizes a broad, diverse, and powerful mix of faith and community institutions to build relationships, develop leadership, dismantle oppression, take action, and win concrete change on a broad range of social, racial, and economic justice issues that affect our families, our member congregations and institutions, and our communities.

    CONECT’s 40 member congregations represent more than 30,000 people bringing Black, white, Latino, & Asian, Christian, Jewish, Muslim & Sikh, urban and suburban leaders together. Over the last 12 years, CONECT has won victories on multiple important regional or state-level issues (automated criminal record expungement, immigrant issues, police reform, health insurance rates, mental health parity, education funding, etc.) as well as victories on a number of local issues in Bridgeport, Norwalk, New Haven, Hamden, etc.

    The Operations Manager will have primary responsibility for the administrative functions of CONECT, under the supervision of the Lead Organizer (Executive Director). The Operations Manager will help manage and execute CONECT’s:

    • Internal & external communications strategies;
    • Individual donor fundraising strategy and foundation grant proposals and reports;
    • Managing and organizing CONECT’s HR records and processes;
    • Manage and maintain CONECT’s databases and information technology, and
    • Provide logistical and office support for CONECT’s organizing staff and larger assemblies and events.

    Key Qualities sought for this position:

    • Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail and reliability are critical in this position;
    • Self-Starter: Self-motivation, initiative, and drive are also critical to this position;
    • Team-Player: the Operations Manager will need to work closely with CONECT’s Lead Organizer, bookkeeper, organizers and key leaders in this role, which will advance CONECT’s mission and effectiveness;
    • Tech-Savvy: a substantial part of the Operations Manager’s work will involve use of
    • Prepared: Training and / or substantial experience in administrative or operations management roles are expected for this position.

    Salary will be commensurate with experience. Generous health insurance & retirement benefits. Spanish language fluency or proficiency is a plus. The Operations Manager will most likely need a car to do the job effectively.
