    About Us

Hamptons Community Outreach is a nonprofit organization dedicated to lifting people out of poverty and reducing human suffering by meeting their most basic and critical needs- and by creating opportunities that change life trajectories for our marginalized neighbors. We serve individuals and families on the East End, where profound need exists alongside extraordinary wealth. We’ve experienced very rapid growth over the last five years, and our actual revenues for 2025 were about $3 million. In addition, we have built up a healthy surplus of cash for contingencies.

We have four areas of outreach:

    1. Food Outreach: Children, seniors, homeless, immigrants and the underemployed are among the many affected by food insecurity. We deliver food to 200 families every week.
    2. Crisis Care: We help people with medical and dental treatments, purchasing cars, paying utility bills, or rent. We also support the homeless who live in the woods.
    3. Housing Repairs: Many families in the Hamptons are unable to afford home repairs, forcing them to raise their children in houses with toxic levels of mold, broken windows, missing doors and no heat. To date, we have renovated 70 homes, built 4 new homes, and have started construction of 4 more houses. We currently have 62 families on our waiting list.
    4. Child Centered Outreach: We have programs that provide underserved children with excellent opportunities, including, our summer art camp, college counseling, vocational training, birthday and holiday parties. We also distribute school supplies, hygiene products, Christmas presents, computers needed for college, clothing, shoes, winter coats and more.

    Position Overview

The Development Director’s role will be to identify and cultivate new donors, steward existing donors, and assist with fundraising events. The Development Director will work in partnership with the Executive Director and will play a key leadership role in driving the organization’s fundraising strategy, ensuring the sustainability of our organization and its programs. We are seeking a seasoned development professional who is passionate about helping people in need. Since we have grown to fundraising 3 million per year and have done it all organically, we are now in a position, since growing so fast, to hire and professionalize our fundraising operations.

The ideal candidate will be both strategic and hands-on - capable of designing fundraising campaigns while also engaging directly with donors, partners, and the community. Familiarity with the philanthropic landscape of the Hamptons and New York City is preferred. The start date is as soon as possible.

    • Help to set up meetings between donors and Executive Director, Marit Molin.
    • Meaningfully contribute to the ongoing fundraising efforts of growing past 3M annually. Formal goals and KPI's to be identified and agreed to during the fundraising planning process.
