    Social Media Manager

    The Emmanuel Gospel Center (EGC) is dedicated to empowering the Church toward Shalom in Greater Boston. We employ a multifaceted approach encompassing applied research, systems practice, ministry development, and storytelling to illuminate the work of God in our region. Our ultimate goal is to translate these narratives into actionable strategies for the Church to address pressing community issues.

    EGC is launching a multiplatform storytelling project that will tell high-quality and captivating stories that appeal to younger generations by speaking to their passions and pains, are told in formats and styles they prefer, and are relevant to both Christians and non-Christians. By delivering consistent, high-quality content about embodied hope, we are seeking to influence the appetite and algorithms of our viewers, deepening their commitments or curiosity toward a loving God. We will draw people of faith toward action and people of action toward faith.

    We are seeking a Social Media Manager who thrives in a creative, collaborative environment and has a passion for storytelling, marketing, organization, and efficiency. The Social Media Manager will oversee our social media accounts, content rollout, platform engagement, short-form video development, and audience insight. They will manage multi-platform calendars, track analytics, shape distribution strategy, and build feedback loops to ensure content is both discoverable and impactful. Their work will inform creative development and support alignment with key audiences.

    This role requires a proactive, tenacious individual who anticipates needs, addresses them with minimal direction, and serves as a reliable thought partner to our Storytelling Initiative creative team. This role is for you if you have a passion for visual storytelling, are well versed and up-to-date on social media marketing, are detail-oriented, adaptable, and resourceful.

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage all content distribution (content schedules, social media platforms,
    • distribution plans)
    • Optimize content reach and engagement
    • Lead community engagement (comments, dialogue, etc.)
    • Collaborate with marketing consultants
    • Collaborate with Creative Director and Producer about additional content development and creation, creative, scheduling, post-production timelines
    • Collaborate with distribution partners (cross-posting, audience sharing, brand collaborations)
    • Lead towards content monetization (YT partner program, sponsorships, ad revenue, paid subscriptions)
    • Oversee and manage additional content creation (short form videos, newsletter, blogs)
    • Shoot and/or edit 12-48 short form videos/year (potentially assist with shooting/editing long-form content also)
    • Collaborate on additional EGC content as a Director/Writer/Editor/Camera Operator or other team roles (this could include content we create for the EGC Fundraiser such as music videos or ministry highlight videos)
    • Lead and collaborate with external creative teams (freelance directors, hosts, shooters, editors, post teams)
    • Reports to Project Director, Elijah Mickelson

    SKILLS, QUALITIES & EXPERIENCE

    Education & Experience

    • 2+ years of experience in Social Media Management
    • Sample video projects that showcase creative storytelling ability
    • Sample social media posts or campaigns that showcase marketing ability, and audience engagement.
    • Multifaceted skill set (Experience in video pre-production, production, and post-production roles is helpful. We are also open to training a candidate if they do not have experience in all of these roles.)
    • Passion for storytelling and filmmaking.
    • High degree of cultural and generational competency.

    Administrative Skills

    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency with managing social media platforms, posts, and metrics.
    • Skills with SEO and online marketing.
    • Proficiency with graphic design in either Adobe suites, Canva or other alternativesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Notion, Miro, and a willingness to learn new tools with AI tools like Otter, Gamma, and Chat GPT.
    • Proficiency with video editing software such as Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere is preferred.
    • Ability to manage complex calendars and prioritize tasks effectively.

    Interpersonal Skills

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

    Strategic Thinking

    • Ability to support and assist in the implementation of strategic initiatives.
    • Experience in drafting project roadmaps and timelines.

    CRITICAL QUALITIES

    • Mature Christian faith as defined by being an active member of a local church, agreeing with the Apostles Creed, and displaying the life of a Christian leader as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-10.
    • Passion for EGC’s principles and deep commitment to EGC's mission of empowering the Church and addressing community needs.
    • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality, ability, and age sensitivity and adaptability.

    COMPENSATION

    We offer an annual salary range of $63,000 to $70,000 depending on experience, for this full-time position. This includes medical and dental coverage, a 4% retirement contribution after one year, four weeks of vacation annually, and a sabbatical policy rewarding long-term commitment.

    This position offers hybrid work arrangements with required in-office meetings and production days. Candidates must be local.
