    Position Summary

    ChildKind International is seeking a Development Manager to lead and implement fundraising activities. Working closely with the Director of Operations, CFO, and CEO the Development Manager will help expand philanthropic support and strengthen donor relationships, with an emphasis on major donor development and family foundations. This role is both strategic and hands-on, and encompasses managing individual giving, foundation grants, small fundraising events, and donor communications. The role requires initiative, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple fundraising streams independently. This is a remote, part-time position (20 hours/week on average) with flexible scheduling and room for growth. Remote location in Northeast preferred.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Fundraising Support: Participate in developing annual fundraising strategies and plans with Executive team
    • Identifying Funding Opportunities: Research and track funding opportunities aligned with ChildKind’s mission and priorities across multiple funding streams, and cultivate relationships with potential donors
    • Grant & Foundation Submission: Lead proposal development and implementation, including supporting materials and follow up activities, develop/maintain a grant calendar ensuring timely submissions
    • Event Coordination: Plan, execute and manage fundraising and outreach events including yearend annual campaign and online fundraising platform
    • Communications: Create compelling content for newsletter, social media, promotional materials, and donor appreciation/thank you communications
    • Reporting: Track and report quarterly progress towards revenue goals and fundraising metrics across individual funding streams
    • Tracking: Maintain organized digital files for grant and donor documentation
    • Team contribution: Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning to diversify funding streams

    Qualifications

    A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience in successful nonprofit fundraising; healthcare specific fundraising and securing general operating support a plus. The ideal person should be able to pick up new programs and applications quickly, and be highly motivated with a self-starter attitude and possess the following strengths:

    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with experience preparing donor communications and grant proposals
    • Passion for pediatric healthcare and improving outcomes for children and families
    • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
    • Strong persuasive and grant writing experience with the ability to tailor communications to specific audiences
    • Proficiency in graphic design and donor research systems like Candid a plus
    • Highly organized and self-directed with strong project management skills and follow through
    • Comfort working in a small organization with limited administrative support
    • Critical thinking skills that can be applied to effectively problem-solve and anticipate the next steps and potential barriers
    • Positive attitude and willingness to be adaptable to dynamic needs
