    Summary

    Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area is seeking a compassionate, organized, detail-oriented, critical thinking, team-player to serve on the Mission Delivery team to assist with wish granting. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Bilingual Wish Manager. Compensation is based on skills and experience.

    • Compensation: $25.50 - $27.50 based on skills and experience

    Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children between the ages of 2-1/2 and 18 who have critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area was founded in 1984 and has fulfilled the wishes of more than 10,000 children in its 42-year history. The Greater Bay Area chapter is headquartered in Oakland and serves 17 Northern California counties, from Monterey County to the Oregon border.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinating in-take process from wish discovery interview through wish determination
      • Managing caseload of approximately 100 wishes at a time
      • Processing wish interview forms when received from volunteers
      • Assessing appropriateness of wish based on policies and guidelines
      • Following up with wish families to discuss wish ideas, set and manage expectations, send letters of understanding, and collect wish family forms, IDs, and other paperwork as required
      • Entering data from family paperwork into Salesforce
      • Interacting with Mission Delivery staff, volunteer wish teams, referral sources and families
      • Manage caseload to ensure wishes move through pipeline in a timely manner
    • Documenting all wish family communication in Salesforce database and maintaining thorough and accurate SharePoint files
    • Keeping up with policy and process changes, and contributing to ongoing process improvements
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education & Experience

    • 3+ years related work experience, including office/administrative experience
    • Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Extreme attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a positive attitude for working in a cooperative environment
    • Ability to navigate complex family dynamics, circumstances, and emotions with empathy and professionalism
    • Well-organized, able to multi-task efficiently, to meet deadlines under pressure, manage timely follow-up, and maintain composure while handling difficult situations
    • Warm, yet professional, demeanor while working with children, families, social workers, medical professionals, staff and volunteers
    • Understanding of and ability to demonstrate cultural and socio-economic humility
    • Willingness to be flexible in terms of assigned responsibilities
    • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
    • PC literate – Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), etc.
    • Database experience, especially Salesforce, a plus
