    Role Summary

    The Marketing Associate supports Rebuilding Together’s marketing and communications efforts through development of digital content, storytelling, and audience engagement initiatives that elevate the organization’s mission and impact. Working closely with the Vice President of Marketing & Communications, this role helps strengthen brand visibility and supports integrated marketing campaigns across digital platforms.

    The Marketing Associate contributes to content creation, campaign coordination, social media engagement, and performance tracking while collaborating with affiliates, partners, and internal teams to ensure consistent, audience-centered communications.

    Associate-Level Responsibilities

    (Standard across all Associate roles)

      • Owns specific aspects of a process, project, or functional area.
      • Exercises judgment in completing work and managing priorities.
      • Applies knowledge of policies, systems, and procedures to make decisions.
      • Identifies issues and determines appropriate actions or escalations.
      • Contributes to projects and may independently manage smaller initiatives.
      • Develops subject matter knowledge and applies it to daily work.

    Key Responsibilities

      • Research, create, and optimize digital content across multiple platforms to support audience engagement, storytelling, and brand visibility.
      • Support development and execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns aligned with organizational priorities and initiatives.
      • Coordinate cross-functional storytelling efforts by collaborating with affiliates, partners, and internal teams to highlight organizational and community impact.
      • Manage and maintain digital communications channels to ensure timely, accurate, and audience-centered content.
      • Assist with social media planning, scheduling, monitoring, and audience engagement activities.
      • Gather and analyze marketing and campaign performance data to support reporting, improve effectiveness, and inform future communications strategies.
      • Support consistency of organizational messaging, tone, and brand standards across communications channels.
      • Monitor digital and social media trends to identify opportunities for audience growth and engagement.

    Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, or related field.
      • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital content, or related roles.
      • Demonstrated experience supporting marketing campaigns, social media management, content creation, or digital communications initiatives.
      • Proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools.
      • Experience with content management systems and basic website content updates.
      • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar reporting platforms.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or similar tools.
      • Strong written communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.

    Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
      • Basic video editing or multimedia content creation experience.
      • Experience working within a nonprofit, mission-driven, or community-based organization.
      • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills for diverse audiences and digital platforms.

    Work Environment & Travel

    This is a remote position. Candidates must reside in one of the following states: DC, FL, GA, IL, MD, NV, NJ, PA, TN, TX, VA, or WI.

    Periodic travel for organizational meetings, team collaboration, and attendance at Rebuilding Together’s annual Summit may be required.

    This position primarily operates in a remote professional office environment and routinely uses standard office technology and equipment. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in virtual and in-person settings and support organizational initiatives as needed.
