Destination Tomorrow (DT) is a national grassroots LGBTQ+ organization founded in the Bronx, built on the principle that no individual should have to leave their neighborhood for necessary services. DT's mission is to move clients off the path of emergency care to one where they can grow, learn, and flourish by emphasizing economic, social, and mental empowerment through comprehensive educational, financial, and health programs, as well as housing solutions. As an expanding multi-site organization, Destination Tomorrow proudly serves the community across The Bronx, New York City; Atlanta, GA; and Washington, D.C.
Position Summary
Destination Tomorrow is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to serve as the CEO's trusted strategic partner in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization experiencing significant growth.
More than a traditional administrative role, this position acts as the CEO's right hand—managing priorities, driving accountability and decisions, coordinating and improving executive scheduling and operations, streamlining communication, and facilitating follow-through to keep momentum . This role will function as an extension of the CEO’s office and play a critical role
in helping Destination Tomorrow scale effectively while protecting the CEO’s time and attention.
The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-focused, highly organized, resourceful, and thrives in dynamic environments where no two days are the same.
Please note: Finalists will be asked to complete a strategic project and present their recommendations to the CEO as part of the final interview process.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support & Strategic Coordination
- Manage the CEO's calendar, priorities, and day-to-day workflow, while balancing competing priorities and demands.
- Prepare agendas, briefing materials, presentations, and meeting logistics.
- Attend meetings, capture key decisions, and track follow-up actions.
- Monitor executive priorities, identify risks, and ensure timely execution of key initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to improve organizational coordination and accountability.
CEO Priority & Accountability Management
- Create and maintain a system for tracking CEO priorities, commitments, deadlines, and organizational initiatives.
- Monitor action items and proactively follow up with leadership and staff to ensure commitments are completed.
- Identify stalled projects, execution risks, recurring delays, and organizational bottlenecks.
- Coordinate progress reviews and status updates on strategic initiatives.
Organizational Visibility, Communication & External Engagements
- Handle highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain a professional and seamless experience for funders, elected officials, partners, media representatives, and VIP guests.
- Manage inbound requests and ensure information reaches the CEO efficiently.
- Coordinate travel, conferences, speaking engagements, and executive events.
- Prepare talking points and briefing materials for meetings and public appearances.
Executive Meetings & Events
- Coordinate leadership meetings, Town Halls, offsites, site visits, and executive sessions.
- Manage scheduling, logistics, travel, materials, venues, and technology to ensure seamless execution.
Qualifications
Required
- 5-7+ years supporting a CEO, Founder, or senior executive in a fast-paced environment.
- Active, professional LinkedIn profile required, as this is a public-facing role.
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating executive travel, conferences, funder meetings, or high-profile events.
- Experience implementing systems to facilitate accountability and high-performance.
- Ability to anticipate needs, manage competing priorities, and work independently.
- Executive-level professionalism and presence with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and project management tools.
Preferred
- Experience supporting executives in a growing nonprofit or multi-site organization.
- Familiarity with LGBTQ+, housing, behavioral health, public health, or social services organizations.
- Experience working in organizations with complex public-sector funding or compliance requirements.
