    Description

    Position Summary

    The Operations Director will serve in a key leadership role at BC3, responsible for overseeing member operations and internal organizational systems. This role reports to the Executive Director. This position is ideal for an experienced operations professional who thrives in a lean organizational environment. The successful candidate will be adept at maximizing efficiency within a very small team structure while maintaining high-quality value to BC3’s corporate membership. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills who can effectively manage cross-functional teams, optimize operational processes, and ensure seamless coordination across all organizational functions.

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    Member Operations

    • Lead comprehensive operations for all member-facing events, including pre-event planning and post-event follow-up activities
    • Serve as project manager for member activities, identifying staff leads, defining core deliverables, and managing timelines, tasks, and outputs across BC3 staff
    • Develop and deploy strategies for directors to share operational responsibilities
    • Help track and allocate emerging "hot topics" and member collaborative activities across BC3 staff, ensuring appropriate staff capacity management
    • Learn, implement, and continuously refine BC3's operating model, including member feedback collection and decision-making processes in coordination with both members and staff
    • Manage member resource hub and work closely with team to deliver valuable content to members

    Internal BC3 Operations

    Directly supervise 1-2 BC3 support staff members who handle critical organizational functions including:

    • Oversee comprehensive member administrative services including invoicing processes, membership renewals, and seamless onboarding experiences for new members.
    • Maintain member engagement forms and coordinate calendar invitations for all member events and activities
    • Oversee management and maintenance of all organizational software platforms and ensure optimal functionality across systems
    • Maintain and optimize Salesforce database integrity, ensuring accurate member information and effective data management practices
    • Coordinate and manage calendaring systems for all Directors to optimize scheduling and meeting coordination
    • Process and manage staff expense reports to ensure timely reimbursement and accurate financial record-keeping
    • Provide comprehensive grant management support including compliance tracking, reporting requirements, and coordination with funding partners

    Fiscal Sponsor Management

    • Work with BC3’s fiscal sponsor to manage BC3 staff hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
    • Manage Advisory Board member onboarding and offboarding, collaborate with AB Chair and Executive Director on new member recruitment, and assess BC3 staff support needs from the Advisory Board

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
    • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive operations management experience
    • 3+ years of supervisory experience managing support staff
    • Basic knowledge of climate issues and solutions
    • Proven project management experience with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
    • Strong experience with CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred)
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Experience with event planning and coordination

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in nonprofit or membership-based organizations
    • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and/or agents
    • Experience working with corporate leaders or working inside of large for-profit corporations
    • Experience with grant management and compliance
    • Knowledge of IT systems and software management
