    Position Overview

Fiver Children’s Foundation seeks a strategic and creative Marketing & Communications Consultant to lead and execute the organization’s external communications and brand strategy. This role will partner closely with the Senior Director of Development to elevate Fiver’s visibility, strengthen donor engagement, and ensure consistent, compelling storytelling across all channels.

This consultant will take ownership of marketing systems and content development previously housed within the development function, helping to build a more intentional and integrated communications approach.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategy & Planning

    • Partner with the Senior Director of Development to establish marketing priorities aligned with organizational goals.
    • Develop and manage an annual communications calendar that integrates fundraising, programmatic, and organizational messaging.
    • Oversee and refine the organization’s social media strategy to grow engagement and reach key audiences.

    Brand Management

    • Implement and ensure consistent application of Fiver’s brand guidelines across all external-facing materials and platforms.
    • Lead periodic staff trainings to reinforce brand standards and promote consistency across teams.

    Content Development & Storytelling

    • Produce high-quality written content for a range of marketing channels, including:
      • E-newsletters
      • Annual reports
      • Social media platforms
      • Donor communications and collateral
    • Craft compelling narratives that highlight program impact and support donor cultivation and stewardship.

    Digital Presence

    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development and broader development team to maintain and update the organization’s website, ensuring content remains current, relevant, and engaging.
    • Identify opportunities to improve user experience and storytelling across digital platforms.

    Fundraising & Donor Engagement Support

    • Develop communications materials that support annual fundraising campaigns, including summer and year-end appeals.
    • Create tailored marketing collateral to support donor cultivation and board-led outreach efforts, including updating 1-pagers, and creating new 1-pagers about our core programs.

    Events & Campaign Execution

    • Support marketing and communications for special events, including promotion, materials development, and day-of coordination as needed.
    • Ensure alignment between event messaging and broader organizational storytelling.

    Board & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Serve as a co-liaison to the Board Marketing Committee alongside the Senior Director of Development, including attending meetings and supporting committee initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or a related field (nonprofit experience preferred).
    • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
    • Experience managing social media platforms and digital content strategies.
    • Familiarity with website content management systems (we use Squarespace)
    • Familiarity with creating content for event marketing purposes (invitations, blast emails, signage, etc)
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
    • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across teams, including senior leadership and board members.
    • Commitment to Fiver’s mission and values.
