    Description

This position is with Leading Youth Through Empowerment through Delaware's AmeriCorps Program. The Post Secondary Success Specialist will serve with LYTE to expand access to higher education for first-generation and lower-income students and families. By increasing financial literacy, supporting students with college planning, and providing ongoing postsecondary support, the Member will help reduce barriers that too often limit students’ opportunities. Through this service, the Member will empower students and families with the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to make informed decisions about their futures. The Member will also strengthen LYTE’s capacity to provide sustainable financial readiness and postsecondary support programming that benefits current and future students.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Support students and families in exploring options for planning and saving for college, as well as understanding the long-term impact of different postsecondary pathways.
    • Guide students and families through the financial aid process, connect them to helpful resources, and support them in making informed decisions about college affordability.
    • Provide individualized encouragement and coaching to help students feel confident in their financial planning and overall readiness for life after high school.
    • Help students successfully transition to college by providing ongoing guidance, connecting them to campus resources, and supporting persistence and completion.
    • Encourage students to set goals, navigate academic and financial challenges, and develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in college and beyond.
