About 30Rights
30Rights is a new human rights advocacy and grantmaking organization working to defend and advance the fundamental rights of women and marginalized populations. Our work combines policy advocacy in Texas with support for grassroots organizations internationally, creating opportunities for shared learning and stronger strategies across borders.
As we prepare for our public launch and build our advocacy and grantmaking programs, we're looking for a creative, thoughtful communications professional to help establish and grow our public voice.
The Role
The Communications & Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the Founder & Executive Director, with a primary focus on building and managing 30Rights' social media presence and supporting broader organizational communications as capacity allows.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their communications career who wants meaningful responsibility and the chance to help shape the voice of a growing human rights organization from the beginning. There is potential for this role to expand over time in hours, responsibilities, and scope, offering the right person an opportunity to grow alongside the organization.
The role is approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility in when most work is completed. The position is remote-friendly, but applicants must be based in Texas.
What You'll Do
- Manage 30Rights' social media accounts and day-to-day content
- Develop and maintain a social media and communications calendar
- Draft, create, schedule, and publish social media content, including simple, polished graphics consistent with 30Rights' brand
- Translate policy developments, organizational activities, research, and human rights issues into clear and engaging public-facing content
- Monitor relevant news and policy conversations and identify timely opportunities for 30Rights to engage
- Track basic social media performance and help refine our approach over time
- As time and organizational needs allow, support other communications projects such as email newsletters, website updates, press and media outreach, events, advocacy activities, and grantmaking announcements
We're Looking for Someone Who
- Is an excellent writer and editor with strong attention to detail
- Can take complex or sensitive issues and communicate them clearly without oversimplifying them
- Has strong judgment about tone, messaging, and what is appropriate for an organization's public voice
- Understands social media and what makes content useful, engaging, and shareable
- Has an eye for clean, professional visual content and experience with tools such as Canva
- Is organized, dependable, responsive, and comfortable managing work independently
- Has a demonstrated interest in and understanding of human rights, public policy, advocacy, public health, international development, or related issues
- Is comfortable working in a small, growing organization where priorities will sometimes evolve
Experience with social media management, communications, advocacy, nonprofits, journalism, public relations, media relations, marketing, or related work is helpful, but we care more about strong writing, good judgment, initiative, and demonstrated ability than a particular number of years of experience.
Current students and recent graduates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Schedule
This is a part-time position of approximately 15 hours per week, paying $18–$24 per hour, depending on experience.
The position is remote-friendly with a flexible schedule, although meetings during regular business hours will be required. Applicants must be based in Texas.
To Apply
Please send a resume and brief statement of interest to careers@30rights.org.
Please also include 2–3 examples of communications work that help us understand your writing, social media, or visual communication skills. These may include social media posts, graphics, articles, newsletters, campaign materials, academic or professional writing, or other relevant work.
We welcome applicants whose experience comes from a combination of professional work, internships, student organizations, volunteer work, coursework, or independent projects.
