    Description

    Objective

    Responsible for managing and processing affordable housing applications by reviewing applicant files,

    including reviewing subsidies, calculating income and assets, running background checks, and arranging unit viewings and lease signings.

    Responsibilities

    • Review applicant files, follow up with applicants to obtain required paperwork, process all required third-party verifications, and run credit and criminal background checks to determine applicant eligibility per program guidelines and project criteria (developing understanding of self-employment and complex files, may require supervision for these)
    • Compile applicant files for internal and external review and approval
    • Work collaboratively with other Housing Specialists and Administrative Assistants, to assist with the execution of leasing and compliance activities
    • Execute other leasing activities including responding to applicant inquiries, scheduling unit showings, lease signings, and unit inspections for subsidy programs when applicable
    • Update logbooks daily
    • Report to the Deputy Director and Director of the department and execute other duties as assigned

    Qualifications/Skills

    • High school required
    • AA/BA preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft suite
    • Organized, attention to detail, familiarity with property management, supportive housing, or affordable housing
    • Spanish-speaking a plus

    Training/Education

    • HPD Marketing training
    • Fair Housing training
    • LIHTC certification helpful
    • Notary helpful
