Position Title: Executive Program Coordinator Organization: MC917 Foundation, Inc. Reports To: Board Chair Status: Part-time, compensated (Independent Contractor or Part-Time Employee) Compensation: $10,000–$15,000 annually (commensurate with experience) Time Commitment: Approximately 4–8 hours per week Location: Primarily remote; occasional travel to Delaware State University (Dover, DE) and Wilmington, DE area for meetings and events. Candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of Wilmington/Dover, DE (approximately 2 hours or less) to support regular in-person engagement with DSU students and program partners, particularly during the initial 2026 program launch.
The Executive Program Coordinator is a vital, part-time leadership role responsible for driving MC917’s Longwood Gardens-funded Student Persistence & Support Initiative at Delaware State University. This position demands a proactive professional who can seamlessly manage program coordination while providing strategic support for foundation fundraising, events, and community partnerships.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional in nonprofit management, higher education, or social services seeking purposeful, flexible engagement. The Coordinator will serve as the primary bridge between the foundation, university partners, and clinical providers, ensuring that students receive comprehensive support and that all grant objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
Student Persistence & Support (Primary Focus: 70–80%)
The Coordinator will spearhead the daily operations of the Student Persistence & Support Initiative at DSU. Key duties include: - Program Coordination: Oversee the student intake process, conduct regular academic monitoring check-ins, and track student progress throughout the academic year. - Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between MC917, Delaware State University program administrators, and TeleHelp 24/7 (our clinical partner for mental health services). - Data & Compliance Management: Maintain accurate program records, document student outcomes, track service referrals, and compile the necessary data for Longwood Gardens grant reporting requirements.
Fundraising & Events (Secondary Focus: 10–15%)
The Coordinator will play a supporting role in the foundation’s development efforts: - Event Management: Plan, organize, and execute MC917’s Annual Fundraiser. This includes managing event logistics, coordinating guest lists, leading sponsorship outreach, and preparing post-event reports. - Donor Relations: Support ongoing donor stewardship initiatives and assist with general foundation communications to enhance community visibility.
Administration & Partnerships (Secondary Focus: 5–10%)
The Coordinator will assist foundation leadership with essential administrative and partnership tasks: - Board Support: Assist the Board Chair with grant administration, funder communications, and the preparation of impact reports. Coordinate scheduling, prepare agendas, and manage follow-up documentation for board meetings. - Community Engagement: Maintain and strengthen community partnerships, specifically coordinating logistics such as food delivery scheduling with the Rosehill Community Center.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Demonstrated professional experience in nonprofit management, higher education, social services, or community development.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in basic record-keeping, data tracking, and reporting tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
- Work Style: Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Logistics: Access to reliable internet and dependable transportation for occasional travel within Delaware (Dover and Wilmington).
- Clearances: Ability to pass a standard background check (required for roles interacting with student populations).
Preferred Qualifications
- Grant Management: Previous experience managing grant-funded programs and fulfilling reporting requirements.
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with higher education student persistence models, mentoring frameworks, or academic support programs.
Benefits
