What We Seek:
The University of New Mexico Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic individual to serve as Project Officer for Grateful Patient and Family (GPF) Program Operations. Reporting to the Managing Director of Data Strategy and Quality, this role is pivotal in managing the technical, data, and compliance functions of the GPF Program to strengthen healthcare philanthropy. The Project Officer will oversee the daily operations of the program, including data acquisition, validation, maintenance, utilization, and strategy, while ensuring best practices in data governance, HIPAA compliance, and quality assurance. This role partners closely with Prospect Development & Analytics, Information Technology, and UNM Health to drive operational efficiency and compliance. In addition, the Project Officer provides HIPAA compliance training to all program stakeholders, serves as the primary liaison for the GPF Development Officer team, and supports their fundraising efforts through seamless operational and data solutions. By championing innovative, data-driven initiatives, the Project Officer will play a critical role in advancing program growth and long-term success.
What We Require:
The selected candidate must demonstrate strong skills in project management, compliance, and data operations, with a passion for advancing healthcare philanthropy through effective system integration and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in data management, governance, and quality assurance, along with a strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, compliance training, and best practices in healthcare-related data handling. Success in this role requires the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and translate technical concepts into actionable solutions for non-technical partners. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, combined with attention to detail, are essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed to effectively support diverse stakeholders and program initiatives, along with experience using enterprise systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Finally, the Project Officer must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on accuracy, compliance, and outcomes.
The minimum education and experience required:
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution OR a combination of some higher education and three years of relevant experience.
- Three years of related experience in fundraising operations, prospect development, or healthcare development
- Experience in database management, training, leadership, and project management.
Compensation Salary Range:
The expected salary for this position is $59,800 - $70,000. This range is an estimate, and the final salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, consideration of any approved geographic salary differential, and alignment with internal equity guidelines to ensure consistency across similar roles.

- Operating Hours from 8:00am – 5pm (MST)
- Weekend availability for some positions
