    Associate Vice President, Human Capital

    United Way of New York City is seeking an experienced HR professional with strengths in talent management, talent acquisition, HR Operations and employee relations to join our team and help strengthen the way we support leaders and staff across the organization.

    In this newly created role, the Associate Vice President, Human Capital will work closely with the Vice President, Human Capital to help ensure our people practices are implemented consistently across UWNYC while providing guidance to leaders on performance management, workforce practices, and day-to-day employee matters.

    This role plays an important operational leadership function by supporting the day-to-day Human Capital priorities into clear expectations and practical guidance for leaders and Human Capital team members across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Move Human Capital initiatives forward by working collaboratively with Human Capital team and others, to achieve desired results.
    • Guide leaders on employee relations and performance matters
    • Support structured hiring and onboarding practices
    • Help ensure consistent application of policies and workplace expectations
    • Oversee workforce processes including role changes and transitions
    • Maintain workforce dashboards and apply workforce analytics and data-driven insights to support leadership decision-making
    • Ensure HRIS data accuracy and workforce reporting integrity
    • Supervise Human Capital staff and support team development

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
    • Expertise in employee relations, talent management, and talent acquisition
    • Experience using workforce analytics and data-driven insights
    • Experience supervising HR staff
    • Total rewards experience is a plus
