Description
You're on morning rounds and notice a gibbon isolating herself from the group, barely touching her food – no vet on-site yet. Two enclosures down, you spot a gap in the fencing that wasn't there yesterday.

Note: Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a 3–5 day on-site training as part of the final selection process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Open for Malaysians only. Priority is given to women, single mothers and Indigenous community.
- No formal education in wildlife conservation required; PMR or SPM not necessary. Must be able to read and perform basic counting.
- Physically fit for fieldwork.
- Grit and resilience – Gibbon Keeper responsibilities are physically and emotionally demanding, we need people who can work under pressure and show up even on hard days.
- Passionate and have strong empathy toward wildlife and animals.
- Strong interest in learning and growing on the job.
- Leadership qualities – able to take initiative and be accountable.
- Comfortable working with and within communities.
- A team player who values collaboration and open communication.
- Practices good personal hygiene and clean-as-you-go habits in all shared spaces.

How to Apply
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Gibbon & Gibbon Guardians Care
- Prepare and provide daily food, water, and enrichment for gibbons and guardian dogs following established protocols and nutritional requirements.
- Conduct jungle browse to collect wild plant materials (leaves, branches) for natural foraging opportunities.
Enclosure & Project Site Maintenance
- Keep enclosures clean, safe, and well-maintained; conduct regular checks for repair or improvements.
- Maintain overall project site cleanliness including the project house, office, bathrooms, and surrounding areas.
Health Monitoring & Medical Support
- Observe and document gibbon health and behavior; report concerns to the rehabilitation and DVM team.
- Assist with routine health checks, treatments, and emergency care while ensuring safe wildlife and animal handling.
