    Description

    About the Organization:

Patients For Affordable Drugs (P4AD) is the only national patient advocacy organization focused exclusively on lowering prescription drug prices. The bipartisan organization, founded by a patient with incurable blood cancer, amplifies the voices of Americans struggling under crushing drug prices to ensure policymakers and elected officials understand the toll of high drug costs. P4AD does not accept contributions from any organizations that profit from the development or distribution of prescription drugs.

    About the Role:

P4AD is seeking a Bilingual Digital Organizer to recruit, engage, and mobilize patients and allies in the movement to lower prescription drug prices. This role will work directly with English- and Spanish-speaking patients and advocates, although most of the work is performed in English.

The ideal candidate is an outgoing, empathetic self-starter who speaks both English and Spanish. Informal or formal prior organizing experience is highly beneficial, as is comfort building and maintaining relationships (electronically and in-person).

This position reports to the Director of Advocacy & Organizing.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Patient and Advocate Organizing

    • Support the recruitment of patients aligned with P4AD’s campaign priorities and geographic reach, ensuring efforts to engage underrepresented groups are tailored to meet their needs
    • Build and maintain trusted relationships with patient advocates through phone calls, email, text messaging, and virtual and in-person engagement in English and Spanish.
    • Support advocates as they move through the ladder of engagement from story sharing to public advocacy, and further leadership opportunities.
    • Maintain consistent follow-up with new and existing advocates and identify emerging leaders for additional coaching and development.
    • Edit and help develop patient stories, letters to the editor, blog posts, and other advocacy material, uplifting emerging trends in new stories.
    • Coordinate recruitment, preparation, scheduling, and follow-up for advocate office hours, webinars, trainings, lobby days, fly-ins, rapid-response mobilizations, and other activities.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities to keep advocates engaged between major campaign moments, press opportunities, and legislative actions.
    • Participate in occasional evening, weekend, or travel-based advocacy activities as requested.

    Digital Organizing

    • Support the execution of P4AD’s digital organizing strategy across email, SMS, action pages, and other digital channels.
    • Build and maintain digital actions (petitions, letter campaigns, story-sharing forms, etc.) and maintain advocate data organized in Action Network
    • Connect mass digital outreach with personal 1:1 follow-up, monitoring SMS responses and digital-action leads
    • Proactively collaborate with policy and communications team members to align advocate messaging with organizational priorities.
    • Support testing and performance monitoring to improve digital outreach and supporter engagement.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
    • Empathetic, with sound judgment and an ability to listen and engage with often distressing lived experiences of patients.
    • Comfortable working with digital tools (email, Google Drive, shared calendars, etc.)
    • High integrity, discretion, and commitment to our mission.

    Preferred

    • Previous organizing experience is strongly preferred
    • Experience with digital organizing or fundraising platforms (e.g., Action Network, EveryAction, or NGP VAN)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills
