ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Regional Philanthropic Director for the Western region (San Francisco Bay Area), you will lead a team of philanthropic advisors that fuels flexible, high-impact funding for grassroots organizing and movement-building groups across the country. You will own and grow a portfolio of donors capable of giving $10,000+ annually—building deep, values-aligned relationships that translate into significant, sustained investment in our mission.

Donor Strategy and Revenue Generation
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 125 primarily San Francisco Bay Area-based donor and prospect households, with full responsibility for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Design and lead high-impact donor strategies, translating donor interests into compelling, multi-year investment opportunities that drive meaningful revenue growth.
- Serve as a strategic partner across Foundations, Donor Organizing, and program teams to unlock aligned funding opportunities.
Team Leadership and Fundraising Culture
- Lead and elevate a high-performing regional fundraising team—coaching staff and contractors to deepen donor relationships, sharpen strategy, and consistently exceed revenue goals.
- Partner with other donor team leaders on strategic growth initiatives, including advisor onboarding, team capacity-building, and program refinement.
- Contribute to a strong internal culture of collaboration, accountability, and shared learning across the fundraising team.
Revenue Forecasting and Data Insights
- Use data and CRM insights to drive portfolio strategy, forecast revenue, and identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
- Lead regular portfolio reviews to provide thought partnership on donor strategies and ensure alignment and accountability across the team..

- The regional team is recognized internally as a model of excellence in donor strategy and collaboration
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Deep mission alignment, clear-eyed yet unwavering hopefulness, and a passion for working at the intersection of organizing, social movements, and electoral politics.
- A genuine love for donors, large and small, and appreciation for their role in advancing progress.
- 5+ years of experience in major gifts or philanthropic advising, including managing donor relationships of $100K+ annually.
- Highly self-directed, with the ability to independently manage a team and portfolio while partnering effectively across teams
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area (1 hour drive if San Francisco)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Multi-entity fundraising experience across 501(c)3, 501(c)4 and PAC giving
- Successful track record as a people manager

Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Full-time, remote, exempt position
- Some travel is required for team retreats and conferences (~15%)

- Three full-time Philanthropic Advisors and one part-time consultant

SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $140,000-170,000 (based on experience), plus a generous benefits package.
