    About the role:

    

    The Senior Finance Manager will work directly with the CFO Consultant and COO, managing a team of 5 members across multiple locations. With the organization's growth plans, there is a need to further strengthen existing financial systems through robust monitoring, evaluation frameworks, and process improvements.

    We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise who is eager to enhance systems and processes, combining best practices with contextual innovation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    

    1. Team & Stakeholder Management
    • Manage and build capacity of the Finance team
    • Maintain and strengthen relationships with partner organizations and funding partners
    • Act as the single point of contact for finance-related queries from funders
    • Review government tenders from a compliance and implementation perspective
    • Liaise with internal teams (Leadership, HR, Fundraising, Communications, Program teams)
    • Coordinate with external stakeholders (auditors, donors, banks, CS, PF & ESIC consultants, etc.)
    1. Program Budgeting & Financial Planning
    • Prepare organizational budgets in collaboration with stakeholders and track variances
    • Review donor utilization reports and optimize fund usage
    • Evaluate donor proposals based on budgets and compliance requirements
    • Track cash flows and prepare quarterly MIS and financial reports
    • Conduct quarterly reviews with project leaders on fund utilization
    • Develop and update SOPs for streamlined processes
    • Manage and authorize expenses in line with approved budgets
    • Review agreements from a financial perspective
    1. Compliance & Financial Reporting
    • Oversee statutory compliances (FCRA, TDS, PT, Income Tax, GST, etc.)
    • Review monthly payroll
    • Review financial statements and books of accounts
    • Manage internal and external audits (CA & donor audits)
    • Prepare quarterly board reports and periodic financial reports
    • Set up finance systems in new locations as the organization expands
    • Continuously improve accounting and reporting systems

    Qualifications, Experience & Key Competencies:

    

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 4+ years of post-articleship experience in accounts, taxation, and compliance
    • Strong knowledge of Income Tax, TDS, PT, and GST
    • Experience in budgeting, cash flow management, and MIS (preferred)
    • Prior experience in the development/NGO sector (preferred)
    • Familiarity with FCRA, PF, and ESIC compliances (preferred)
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
    • Proficiency in Excel and Tally
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong written and spoken English
    • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and solve problems effectively.
