Job Description
Full Time – Salaried
Reports to Director of Advancement
Core Advancement Responsibilities:
- Articulate to donor and potential donors, with enthusiasm, the Lasallian Mission including the role of District of Eastern North America’s ministries.
- Assist in structuring and implementing an Advancement plan that will establish and grow donor involvement and support for DENA’s needs, especially for tuition support, Lasallian vocation and formation activities, and continuing care of Brothers.
- Work with the Director to plan and carry out Advancement’s annual and special appeals.
- Develop ideas to create and implement new digital appeals.
- Implement donor stewardship initiatives designed to increase existing donor response rates and retention levels.
- Develop fundraising strategies for new events in order to build relationships and engage with a diverse group of potential new donors, especially younger donors.
- Partner with the DENA Communications team to optimize Advancement’s website & use of social media.
- Support the Advancement staff so they can successfully process all donations and Mass Card orders.
- Assist the Director with the supervision of contracted foundation grant writers.
- Interact with IT support as needed for hardware, software and other equipment issues.
Advancement Office Financial Management:
- Work with the Director to create the annual budget.
- Manage QuickBooks.
- Interface with the Advancement Operations Supervisor to ensure reconciliation of all cash, check, credit card and stock donations in QuickBooks and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Process monthly bills and restricted donations in alignment with the office budget.
- Meet with the outside accountant quarterly and at year-end to review financial reports.
- Assist with maintaining budget vs. actual financial data for quarterly DENA Council reports
- Manage the payroll relationship with ADP.
- Oversee the annual inventory count by Advancement staff.
- Purchase office and mailing supplies as needed.
Other:
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement which are consistent with the goals and requirements of this position.
Position Requires:
- Occasional evening and weekend availability as needed.
- Flexibility for event travel if needed.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
