    Description

    The Opportunity: Culinary Careers Program, the national workforce development nonprofit, is looking to hire a Chicago Program Coordinator. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, hybrid position, reporting to the Chicago Program Director.

    About Us: Culinary Careers Program (C•CAP) partners with public schools nationwide to equip under-resourced students with culinary education, job training, scholarships, and apprenticeships, opening doors to careers in food and hospitality.

    About the Position: The Program Coordinator assists and works alongside the Program Director to perform a variety of outreach, coordination, and logistical services to execute programs provided to C·CAP participating high schools and their students. The Program Coordinator will work closely with teachers and administrators within the school district(s) to meet program goals as well as members of the national team to help implement programs to empower students toward culinary-based careers and/or higher education.

    Essential Functions:

    The Program Coordinator functions include, but may not be limited to, duties such as the following:

    • Assist the Chicago Program Director in the implementation of C·CAP programming including the annual Cooking Competition for Scholarships
    • Coordinate and facilitate participating school-related programs: teacher professional development workshops, visiting chef demonstrations, and product donations without supervision.
    • Deliver and/or coordinate presentations, training workshops, and orientations, without supervision.
    • Prepare program materials to generate student participation in programs, such as applications, recruitment flyers, training material, and surveys
    • Send regular teacher communications (via email/phone) that includes program information, resources, and professional development workshops
    • Maintain accurate, confidential and detailed records of programs including participating students, alumni, and school and industry partner records in Salesforce on a timely basis
    • Work closely with national program team to contribute to participating school engagement strategies and program enhancements
    • Additional duties as assigned

    Candidates will undergo a thorough background check as required by our Chicago school district partners.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Culinary/Hospitality Degree
    • Spanish Bilingual capability preferred
    • 1-3 years of young adult development experience preferred (i.e. teaching, training, coaching, advising)
    • Ability to serve and create an inclusive environment for under resourced youth
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, industry partners, and community to support growth
    • Ability to take direction, work efficiently and with integrity
    • Timely response to work priorities and be accountable for effective results
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; genuine commitment to work collaboratively on team and appreciate other’s contributions
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, Canva, and CRM databases for tracking and reporting. Experience working with Salesforce, survey platforms, and Mailchimp are a plus
    • Ability to maintain confidential records and information, abide by all FERPA regulations
    • Organizational and problem resolution skills; flexibility, willingness and readiness to adapt to changing circumstances; ability to balance competing demands and priorities
    • A valid driver’s license is required as is reliable and accessible transportation
    • Ability to work from a home office with reliable internet, computer, and phone
    • Candidate must reside in the Chicago metropolitan area and be available to visit participating schools and meet in-person as needed
