    PURPOSE/SUMMARY

    YWCA Rochester & Monroe County is on a mission to build a culture of philanthropy that advances our work and deepens our impact in the community. We are seeking an organized, people-oriented, and enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to join our Development team.

    YWCA Rochester & Monroe County is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Volunteer Coordinator to build and grow a dynamic volunteer program that expands community engagement and supports the organization's mission. This role serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers, community groups, schools, corporations, interns, and service organizations seeking meaningful opportunities to support YWCA programs and events.

    The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and recognizing volunteers while ensuring a positive and impactful volunteer experience. This position works collaboratively with staff across the organization to identify volunteer needs, develop service opportunities, coordinate community engagement activities, and support key organizational initiatives including resident support services, Adopt-a-Family, the Empowering Women Luncheon, fundraising salons, corporate volunteer projects, and community outreach events.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the ideal candidate is highly organized, welcoming, entrepreneurial, and comfortable serving as a public ambassador for YWCA. They are skilled at building relationships, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and creating engaging experiences that connect volunteers to the mission and impact of the organization. This role is well-suited for someone eager to grow in the field of development, and will have the latitude to own systems and refine processes to improve efficiency and consistency. The hired candidate will have opportunities to build skills in event execution, volunteer management, community building, and donor relations.
