    About Build 2 Lead

    Build 2 Lead (B2L) is a youth-centered nonprofit organization advancing equity, wellness, leadership, and systems change for Black, Brown, and historically underserved young people. Through culturally grounded programming and restorative practices, B2L partners with schools and communities to disrupt punitive systems and cultivate pathways to belonging, healing, and opportunity.

    Position Overview

    The Restorative Practices Youth Training Specialist is a specialized facilitation and training role focused on advancing restorative, trauma-informed, and healing-centered practices with youth, educators, and community partners.

    This role supports school and community culture shifts away from punitive discipline models toward relationship-based accountability and youth leadership. The Specialist will facilitate training, circles, and workshops while supporting broader programmatic and systems-change initiatives across South King County.

    Key Responsibilities

    Restorative Training & Facilitation

    • Design and facilitate restorative practices trainings for youth (ages 11–24), educators, and community partners
    • Lead community-building circles, healing spaces, and conflict-resolution processes
    • Support youth leadership, reflection, and accountability through restorative dialogue

    Program & Curriculum Support

    • Support implementation of B2L programs including Reaching for Greatness, Civic-Champions, and Youth Executive Committee initiatives
    • Adapt curricula to be culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate
    • Collaborate with program staff to align training outcomes with organizational and funder goals

    School & Systems Partnership Support

    • Support schools and partner organizations in transitioning from punitive discipline practices to restorative approaches
    • Provide coaching and technical assistance to educators and youth-serving staff
    • Align work with district, county, and state equity and wellness frameworks

    Wellness & Wraparound Integration

    • Embed healing-centered engagement, SEL, and wellness practices into all trainings
    • Collaborate with B2L wellness coordination staff on youth support and follow-up
    • Model restorative leadership and relational accountability

    Reflection, Data & Continuous Improvement

    • Support documentation, reflection, and reporting on training outcomes
    • Participate in team learning, debriefs, and continuous improvement cycles

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Certification or formal training in Restorative Practices, Restorative Justice, or Healing-Centered Engagement
    • Experience working in K-12 schools, community-based organizations, or juvenile justice diversion programs
    • Background in social work, education, youth development, or community organizing
    • Bilingual or multilingual skills (especially Spanish)

    Compensation & Role Growth

    This position is professionally funded at $23–$25 per hour, based on experience and facilitation background.

    • Estimated Annualized Salary Range: $47,840 – $52,000 (full-time equivalent)
    • Consistent, program-based hours
    • Strong potential for contract renewal and expanded hours as funding grows
    • Priority consideration for future leadership or full-time opportunities within Build 2 Lead
