    Description

    The Downtown Alliance is hiring a contract Program Coordinator to run the day-to-day logistics of a tourism/destination marketing-related contest having to do with a music residency program in Lower Manhattan. This is a production and logistics role for someone organized, reliable and comfortable managing many moving parts at once.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Senior Director, Tourism + Hospitality in running the program timeline and ensuring key milestones and deliverables remain on schedule.
    • Assist in the planning and logistics phase, the application and selection process, including submission intake, internal review, and panel coordination.
    • Coordinate logistics during the residency, including scheduling, venues and production.
    • Serve as the point of contact across internal and external partners.
    • Assist with event planning and on-site execution for program-related activities.
    • Provide administrative and operational support as needed to ensure successful program delivery.
    • Contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced environment and support additional program needs during peak periods.

    Requirements

    • Experience coordinating complex projects or events on time and on budget.
    • Strong organization, communication and follow-through.
    • Availability for frequent in-person work in Lower Manhattan, including evenings and event days.
    • Flexibility to scale hours up during peak periods.
    • Interest in music and culture.

    Contract Details

    • Contractor will be required to sign the Downtown Alliance’s form of contract.
    • Contract term: Approximately September 2026 through October 2027.
    • Hybrid, based in Lower Manhattan.
    • Frequent in-person attendance required for meetings, events and program activities.
    • Hours will vary based on program needs with increased workload during application, selection, residency and event periods.
    • Contractor is responsible for all applicable taxes and is not eligible for employee benefits.

    Independent Contractor Status

    This position is a contract engagement. The selected individual will serve as an independent contractor and not as an employee of the Downtown Alliance. The contractor will be responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance and other obligations associated with independent contractor status.
