    About United Women in Faith

    United Women in Faith - National Organization is the policy-making body that manages and oversees the programs and projects of United Women in Faith (UWFaith). We accomplish this by equipping women and girls around the world to be leaders in communities, agencies, workplaces, governments, and churches and to advocate for the oppressed and dispossessed with special attention to the needs of women and children. UWFaith builds supportive communities among women; engages in activities that foster growth in the Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social involvement, while working for justice through compassionate service and advocacy to change unfair policies and systems while providing educational experiences that lead to personal change in order to transform the world.

    Summary of Responsibilities

    The Executive for Spiritual Growth & Formation guides members and leaders into a deeper understanding, study and practice of faith. Implementing and leading programs that inspire members to put Faith into Action. Responsible for connecting theology to actionable practices.Spiritual formation into compelling experiences, programs, resources, and engagement pathways that help women deepen their faith, connect with one another, and participate more fully in the work of United Women in Faith.

    The Executive for Spiritual Growth and Formation will ensure that experiences include a faith perspective and are spiritually and biblically grounded and aligned with the mission, vision, values, and theological traditions of United Women in Faith and The United Methodist Church. This includes shaping and advancing the work of Soul Care and other formative initiatives, developing meaningful opportunities for women to gather, connect, reflect, and grow, and creating new experiences and resources that welcome and engage women at all stages of spiritual growth across the organization.

    The Executive for Spiritual Growth and Formation will provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of these initiatives, including project management, collaboration, resource development, and evaluation. This work connects to the purpose of United Women in Faith: to become whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to turn faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children, and youth around the world.

    Qualifications

    All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with a disability.

    • Bachelor’s Degree, master's degree in theology preferred or related degree.
    • Knowledge of and/or experience in the organization of United Women in Faith and/or comparable women’s organizations with similar interests and programs. Although being a member of The United Methodist Church is not required, general knowledge of polity of The United Methodist church is helpful.
    • In-depth understanding of the work of the United Methodist Church and United Women in Faith, its culture, mission and vision.
    • Ability to assess the spiritual growth, formation, nurture, and challenge needs of members and translate those insights into appropriate opportunities and experiences.
    • Experience in writing biblical curriculum and biblical teaching, as well as presenting in plenary, seminar or classroom setting.
    • Experience in anti-racism training and/or understanding of an analysis of racism and oppression to apply this lens to development of spiritual growth curriculum, resources and training.
    • In-depth understanding of intersectionality and ability to apply this lens to the development of spiritual growth curriculum, resources and training.
    • Must have the ability to write quickly, accurately and intelligently in English with the ability to work independently and perform well in deadline driven environment.
    • Must be highly organized with proven mastery of Microsoft, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Must possess, and continually develop, strong oral and written communication required to communicate with members and partners.
    • Lead with emotional maturity, ability to call breakdowns in real time.

    Annual Salary Range

    $85,000 - $93,000
