    Description

    Minds Matter National is looking for an Assistant Director of Programs (High School). Our ideal candidate is someone who:

    • Has experience designing or managing high school college access programs, including mentoring and college advising curriculum
    • Has supervised and coached staff and volunteers across multiple sites, ideally in a network or multi-chapter organization
    • Has experience evaluating programs, is data-informed and comfortable managing program data systems and turning results into clear reports
    • Builds strong working relationships with chapter staff, volunteers, and external partners
    • Is organized and able to run a recurring program cycle from start to finish
    • Is comfortable with a remote role that includes regular travel to chapter sites

    Minds Matter is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect driven and determined

    students from low-income families to the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college,

    create their future, and change the world. Minds Matter operates 14 chapters across the nation.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    As Assistant Director of Programs (High School), you will lead the national high school program that

    Minds Matter National develops and Minds Matter chapters deliver to students in 10th through 12th

    grade. Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, you will manage and develop the national curriculum,

    support chapters in running strong programs, own the summer program cycle, and lead evaluation of

    high school program outcomes. You will work closely with the Assistant Director of Programs (College

    & Career Success) to keep the program aligned from high school through college and career.

    Program Oversight & Development

    • Lead implementation of the Minds Matter National mentoring and college advising curriculum

    across the 3-year high school program

    • Manage and lead ongoing development of the 10th–12th grade mentoring and college

    advising curriculum and resources

    • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Programs (College & Career Success) to keep the

    program aligned across all seven years

    • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Programs (College & Career Success) to manage

    partnerships across college access and success programs

    • Partner with the Chief Program Officer to plan the future trajectory of the high school

    program

    Chapter Support & Collaboration

    • Build chapter program capacity by identifying areas for growth and providing support,

    resources, and consultation

    • Work with chapters to improve high school programs and the national curriculum over time
    • Develop and manage training materials and resources for chapter staff and volunteers
    • Design and deliver training for network staff and volunteers
    • Build and facilitate a community of practice for chapter program directors and managers
    • Manage monthly network-wide program meetings, the programs newsletter, and the programs Slack channel

    Summer Programs

    • Develop and manage nationwide summer program partnerships
    • Own and manage the summer program cycle, including rosters and coordination with chapters
    • Ensure smooth communications and coordination between summer program partners and chapters; keep resources up to date
    • Train, support, and work with the Summer Program Director at each chapter

    Data, Reporting & Evaluation

    • Oversee program evaluation projects and consultants (as needed)
    • Manage high school program data systems, including Overgrad and Salesforce
    • Report on summer program outcomes to the Chief Program Officer and CEO
    • Prepare program outcomes reports for chapters

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 8+ years of experience in college access, college advising, education, or youth development
    • Experience developing curriculum and training adults, such as staff or volunteers
    • Experience managing programs or projects across multiple sites or teams
    • Experience managing external partnerships and consultants
    • Proficiency with student data systems (Overgrad or similar) and comfort building reports
    • Able to manage complex tasks and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Comfortable working closely with senior leadership, including regular collaboration with the Chief Program Officer and CEO
    • Willingness and ability to travel to chapter sites

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This role is fully remote with domestic travel to chapter sites throughout the year. All members of the

    Minds Matter staff work a four-day work week from Tuesday to Friday, including meetings outside of

    standard hours (including Saturdays and evenings) when necessary.

    This role requires the employee to be located within the United States and located in one of the

    following metro areas: Bay Area (CA), Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los

    Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland (OR), Seattle, or Washington, DC. We

    are unable to consider applicants residing outside of the United States at this time.

    COMPENSATION

    The salary for this position is $90,000. Minds Matter offers full healthcare, vision, and dental care, a

    four-day workweek, and a generous PTO policy.
