    Description

    This position is designed for music students ages 18 and up who are eager to learn the ins and outs of working in music education under the guidance of seasoned faculty. A person in this position will also provide critical support to ensure camp operations run smoothly.

    Compensation: $17 per hour

    Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. (See Below for Specific Camp Dates)

    Training Days: June 14th, 15th from 6-8pm. Must be available for a camp training session. Alternative dates may be available by request.

    Qualifications

    • Currently or recently enrolled in an undergraduate program, preferably in music or education.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Reliable, punctual, and passionate about music and music education.
    • Experience working with youth aged 4 -16 is a plus.
    • Able to lift upwards of 50 lbs

    Responsibilities

    • Instructional Support
      • Assist faculty in classrooms during group sessions or individual coaching.
      • Model positive playing habits and behavior to students.
      • Participate in activities as needed under the direction of the faculty or camp artistic director.
    • Logistical Support
      • Assist with setting up and breaking down classrooms, arranging music stands/chairs, and managing instrument and gear storage.
      • Supervise students during lunch breaks, transitions between classes, and morning drop-off/afternoon pick-up.
      • Assist with the production and coordination of performances.
      • Provide additional support as directed by the summer camp coordinator.
    • Safety
      • Attend pre-camp training and daily staff check-ins to learn best practices.
      • Understand and follow all safety guidelines and emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
      • Report any student injuries, accidents, or illnesses to camp leadership as soon as possible.
