Position Summary:
The Database Assistant supports the back-end data needs of Extreme Kids & Crew by ensuring that program attendance, and constituent information is accurately collected, organized, and entered into Little Green Light (LGL). This role is essential to keeping our records up to date, supporting program evaluation, and helping the team make informed decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with spreadsheets, and able to maintain consistent data practices.
Position Details:
- Status: Independent Contractor (with possibility of permanent role)
- Reports to: Program and Operations Specialist
- Schedule: In person, 2 times a week, at EKC’s offices at the Brooklyn Children Museum.
- Compensation: $16.50/8 hours a week
Key Responsibilities:
- Import, export, and clean data from spreadsheets and digital attendance sheets.
- Enter attendance records, program participation, and visit counts into Little Green Light.
- Create and update constituent profiles, including contact information and demographic details.
- Organize large sets of data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Run basic reports in LGL as needed to support staff, board meetings, and program evaluation.
- Support quarterly data pulls and summaries for newsletters, grant reporting, and website updates.
- Communicate with program staff to collect missing information or clarify inconsistencies.
- Attend quarterly staff meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow data security practices at all times.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel) and strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with databases; LGL experience is a plus but not required (training provided).
- Ability to follow data-entry protocols and maintain consistent accuracy.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Interest in nonprofit work or supporting neurodivergent children and families is a plus.
