    Description

    About finEQUITY

finEQUITY is a nonprofit helping people impacted by incarceration build financial stability. We combine direct financial support, coaching, financial tools, and practical resources to help participants address urgent needs and make longer-term financial progress. We are a growing organization, which means many of our programs and systems are still being tested and improved. We are looking for someone who is energized by that stage of building.

    About the Role

The Program & Operations Manager (Builder) will help turn participant needs and organizational ideas into useful programs, resources, processes, and digital experiences.

This is a hands-on role, not primarily an oversight position. You might create a participant guide, improve an application process, help operate a grant or coaching program, interview participants about their experiences, build a new workflow, or test a no-code tool.

The exact mix of work will evolve based on finEQUITY's needs and the strengths of the person hired. Some candidates may bring stronger program-development and user-engagement experience. Others may also have experience building digital products or no-code systems. Both profiles are welcome.

    What You'll Do

    • Create and improve participant-facing programs, resources, tools, and communications.
    • Help operate programs such as financial coaching, rewards, emergency assistance, and participant support.
    • Talk with participants and team members to understand what is working, what is confusing, and what needs to change.
    • Turn feedback and recurring problems into practical improvements.
    • Build and document workflows that make our services more reliable and easier to manage.
    • Use data to identify participation gaps, unresolved issues, and opportunities to improve outcomes.
    • Depending on your experience, build or improve no-code tools and automated workflows.
    • Coordinate with staff, peer mentors, and specialized contractors to move work forward.
    • Help finEQUITY determine which systems and future roles are needed as the organization grows.

    What We're Looking For:

    • The most important qualification is evidence that you have personally built something useful. This might include a program, resource, service, community initiative, operational process, curriculum, digital product, no-code tool, or user-engagement system.
    • A commitment to social impact and respect for people affected by the criminal legal system.
    • The ability to move from an idea or problem to something people can actually use.
    • Experience engaging directly with users, participants, customers, or community members.
    • Strong writing, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through.
    • Comfort working where every process is not already established. • Good judgment about when to act independently and when to ask for clarity.
    • A commitment to quality and stability, not speed for its own sake.
    • An interest in both doing the work and building systems others can eventually use. Technical experience is helpful but not required. We are open to candidates with strong program-building and user-engagement experience who have not worked in technology. A particular degree or traditional nonprofit career path is not required.

    Compensation and Growth:

The starting salary is $50,000-$65,000, depending on relevant experience and demonstrated building ability. Candidates who are able to be hybrid and show strength across both nontechnical program or resource development and technical or no-code building will generally be considered toward the higher end of the range. There is an opportunity for salary growth within the first year based on demonstrated performance, growth in responsibility, and finEQUITY's available resources. The benefits package, including whether health insurance will be offered, is still being determined and will be shared with candidates before an offer is accepted.

    Applying

Please submit a resume that clearly identifies what you personally built, created, launched, or substantially improved, not only the organizations where you worked or the responsibilities you held. We will prioritize candidates whose application materials show concrete building experience and the people who benefited from their work
