Our current organizational priorities include:
- Securing at least $20,000 annually through grants, partnerships, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives
- Expanding strategic partnerships with local and international organizations
- Strengthening Techrity’s operational capacity and sustainability
- Impacting over 1,000 young Africans through technology-focused programs and career development initiatives
As our first dedicated Grants, Partnerships & Development Manager, you won’t inherit an existing fundraising department—you’ll help build it.
About the Role
This is not a traditional Grant Writer position.
We are looking for someone who can build Techrity’s fundraising and partnership engine.
The Grants, Partnerships & Development Manager will lead the organization’s funding strategy by identifying funding opportunities, developing competitive grant proposals, cultivating donor and partner relationships, coordinating fundraising initiatives, ensuring grant compliance, and establishing the internal systems required to support sustainable organizational growth.
The successful candidate will own the complete funding lifecycle—from opportunity discovery and qualification through proposal development, award management, donor stewardship, reporting, and renewals.
This role combines strategic thinking with excellent writing, research, project management, relationship management, and impact reporting.
You will work directly with the Executive Director and collaborate across every department to help secure the resources needed to scale Techrity’s impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Funding Strategy & Grant Intelligence
Lead Techrity’s grant sourcing and funding strategy by:
- Identifying local and international grant opportunities aligned with Techrity’s mission.
- Researching philanthropic foundations, corporate CSR programs, government funding opportunities, development agencies, embassies, innovation funds, and multilateral organizations.
- Monitoring grant platforms such as Goodstack and other funding databases.
- Maintaining an annual funding calendar and grant opportunity pipeline.
- Developing a diversified funding strategy across grants, sponsorships, corporate giving, donor programs, and strategic partnerships.
- Advising leadership on which opportunities should be prioritized based on strategic fit and probability of success.

- Grant Proposal Development
Lead the preparation of compelling funding applications including:
- Grant proposals
- Concept notes
- Letters of Inquiry (LOIs)
- Expressions of Interest (EOIs)
- Project proposals
- Donor presentations
- Executive summaries
- Organizational capability statements
- Theory of Change
- Logic Models
- Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks
- Sustainability plans
- Case for Support documents
Work closely with internal teams to gather technical information, budgets, impact data, success stories, and supporting documentation.
Customize every proposal to the priorities and funding criteria of each donor.
- Partnership Development & Donor Engagement
Build long-term strategic relationships with:

Represent Techrity during meetings, networking events, conferences, and donor engagements.

- Fundraising Campaign Management
Coordinate fundraising initiatives alongside internal teams.
This includes supporting campaigns such as:
- One Techie One Laptop Campaign
- Corporate Giving initiatives
- Individual donor campaigns
- Annual fundraising campaigns
- Sponsorship opportunities
- Technology donation initiatives
- Innovation funding opportunities
Collaborate closely with Social Media, Design, Community, Engineering, and Content teams to ensure fundraising campaigns are effectively communicated and executed.
- Budget Development
Partner with leadership to:
- Develop project budgets
- Prepare budget narratives
- Create budget justifications
- Ensure financial accuracy
- Align budgets with donor requirements
- Coordinate with Finance during proposal development and reporting
- Grant Management & Compliance
Following successful awards:
- Track grant milestones
- Coordinate internal deliverables
- Monitor reporting deadlines
- Ensure compliance with grant agreements
- Maintain complete grant documentation
- Coordinate narrative reports
- Coordinate financial reporting with Finance
- Support grant renewals and extensions
- Manage donor communications throughout the grant lifecycle

Fundraising is a cross-functional effort, and this role will serve as the central coordinator for funding and partnership initiatives across the organization.
Success in Your First 90 Days
Within your first three months, you will:
- Audit Techrity’s existing fundraising assets and documentation.
- Build Techrity’s Grant Opportunity Tracker and Annual Funding Calendar.
- Establish a centralized Donor & Partnership CRM.
- Develop a prioritized funding pipeline of local and international opportunities.
- Submit the first batch of high-quality grant applications.
- Develop standardized proposal, budget, and reporting templates.
- Create a grants and partnerships dashboard for leadership.
- Coordinate fundraising priorities across internal teams.
- Support ongoing fundraising initiatives and partnership engagements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Success in this role will be measured through:
Funding
- Build an annual qualified funding pipeline valued at $100,000+
- Secure at least $20,000 annually through grants, partnerships, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives.
- Submit 20–30 high-quality grant applications annually.
- Increase the annual grant success rate.
Partnerships
- Build relationships with 25+ strategic funding organizations and partners.
- Increase the number of active corporate and institutional partnerships.
- Improve donor retention and grant renewal rates.
Operations
- Maintain 100% grant reporting compliance.
- Zero missed reporting deadlines.
- Maintain an up-to-date grants CRM and funding pipeline.
- Develop and maintain proposal and reporting templates.
Organizational Impact
Support Techrity’s broader organizational goals of:
- Expanding sustainable funding.
- Increasing strategic partnerships.

- Enabling Techrity to impact over 1,000 young Africans through technology programs and career development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, partnerships, business development, or resource mobilization.
- Proven experience developing successful funding proposals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional proposal writing and storytelling ability.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Experience managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
