    REPORTS TO: Program Manager

    INTRODUCTION:

Volunteers of America Mid-States (VOA) is a non-profit organization spanning four states that creates positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service. We provide housing for families, veterans, and low-income seniors. We provide care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities, healing accountability that brings people together with restorative justice, and free HIV testing and education.

When Volunteers of America was founded in 1896, "volunteer" referred to anyone who served others as a vocation through a commitment to a mission. Today, we are still staffed by paid, mission-driven professionals working to create positive change and build thriving communities. Flexibility, teamwork, and fun are some of the reasons our employees are proud to work at VOA! We offer a comprehensive benefits package to employees who meet eligibility requirements.

Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

At Volunteers of America Mid-States we believe recovery happens through connection, consistency, and community.

We serve individuals in some of the most critical stages of addiction recovery—where showing up in person can make all the difference. Our clinicians are part of a collaborative, team-based environment focused on helping people stabilize, rebuild, and move forward.

If you’re looking for meaningful work, strong clinical support, and a place where you’re not working alone—this is that place.

    Why Join Our Team

✔ You’re Part of a Team, Not on an Island

Work alongside case managers, peer support specialists, and supervisors who are available in real time. You’ll have support before, during, and after challenging sessions.

✔ In-Person Work That Drives Real Outcomes

Provide care where it matters most—supporting clients in early recovery through face-to-face therapy, group work, and crisis stabilization.

✔ Built-In Support to Prevent Burnout

    • Manageable caseload expectations
    • Protected time for documentation and case consultation
    • Access to supervisors and peers throughout the day
    • A structured environment designed to support both staff and clients

✔ A Mission You Can Feel Every Day

Your work directly impacts individuals, families, and the broader recovery community.

    What You’ll Do

    • Provide individual and group therapy for individuals in addiction recovery
    • Facilitate evidence-based groups (relapse prevention, trauma-informed care, etc.)
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support whole-person care
    • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and treatment planning
    • Support clients through early recovery and high-risk transitions
