Crafting Purposeful Experiences for All Ages
At Project Chimps, our commitment to providing lifelong sanctuary to retired chimpanzees extends beyond their enclosures. We believe in crafting moments and weaving narratives that resonate with purpose and passion. If you're someone who sees events as more than just gatherings — as stories waiting to unfold — and if you have a knack for orchestrating experiences for children and adults with compassion, join us as an Education & Event Coordinator.
Your Journey with Us
Crafting Purposeful Events:
As our Education & Event Coordinator, you step into the role of a storyteller, contributing to the positive and professional culture that defines Project Chimps. Your canvas is vast, encompassing public events on campus, third-party rentals, and off-site ticketed gatherings. You have an opportunity to work with people of all ages with diverse backgrounds, education, and experience.
Service with a Smile:
Your days are filled with providing exceptional customer service, responding promptly to calls, emails, and other forms of communication. You become the face of Project Chimps during events, ensuring every interaction echoes our values and mission.
The Architect of Experiences:
Your creativity shines as you establish standardized event procedures and a managed budget, training a dedicated team to flawlessly execute experiences that resonate with our visitors and guests.
Beyond the Limelight:
Your role extends beyond the limelight of events. You are the facilitator of the Event Committee, actively participating in the Curricula Writing Team, ensuring that every event aligns with our narrative and purpose.
Collaboration as the Key:
As the liaison between departments, you collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator for event support, harmonize with the Communications Department for marketing magic, and synchronize with the Facilities Department for seamless event setup and teardown.
Education in Every Interaction:
As a former children’s educator, you will be the bridge between Project Chimps and educational institutions, working with children, teachers, and scout leaders to ensure that every event and program aligns with their needs.
A Symphony of Safety:
Your events aren't just about joy; they're about safety. You follow all safety guidelines diligently, creating a haven for everyone involved, from employees and volunteers to visitors and, of course, our cherished chimpanzees.
Your Qualifications:
To excel as our Education & Event Coordinator, you bring a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. You have a strong background in working with school-age children in instructional settings. Your experience in coordinating medium-sized events and your familiarity with event registration software marry well with your educational background to craft a perfect fit for Project Chimps.
You have the ability to work independently, sometimes under strict deadlines, with internal and external partners in a fast-paced environment. You have strong organizational and time management skills and know how to prioritize effectively.
Join Our Sanctuary Family:
This isn't just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of a story that unfolds across weekends and holidays. It's a chance to work around the vibrancy of events, create memories, and be surrounded by the buzz of life, both human and chimpanzee.
If you believe that every event is a chapter waiting to be written, if you thrive in a world where flexibility is the only constant, and if you are ready to be a storyteller in the Project Chimps saga, join us as the Education & Event Coordinator. Help us craft moments that echo the heartbeat of Project Chimps, one educational event at a time.
