    Description

    Position Summary

    NAMI GLAC provides support, education and training for individuals and families living with mental health conditions in various service areas throughout the County of Los Angeles primarily through a network of local “chapters” or divisions of GLAC. The Director plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission, impact, and sustainability of GLAC through providing and supervising chapter staff in the provision of these programs while interfacing with chapters’ boards of managers. The Director reports directly to the CEO.

    Organizational Leadership & Strategy

    • Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to implement the organization’s strategic plan and

    mission-driven initiatives.

    • Work with Chapter Boards of Managers to identify and achieve local community goals.
    • Ensure consistency and quality of delivery of NAMI Signature and other programs through Chapter operations.
    • Manage strategic planning activities and reporting.
    • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and community events.

    Program Oversight & Quality Assurance

    • Monitor program outcomes, compliance, and data reporting for grants and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify opportunities for program expansion, innovation, and community impact.
    • Develop and maintain program policies, workflows, and performance metrics.

    Financial Stewardship

    • Support the CEO, Operations Directorand Chapters with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Monitor program budgetsand performance to ensureresponsible stewardship of financial and grant resources.
    • Assist in grant development, reporting, and contract management.

    Staff Leadership & Development

    • Supervise programstaff and support apositive, inclusive, and mission-aligned organizational culture.
    • Facilitate professional development opportunities and team-building activities.
    • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation processes.

    Supervision Responsibilities

    • Provide direct supervision of chapter managers through regular 1:1 meetings focused on goal-setting, performance, and professional development.
    • Conduct formal performance evaluations, including writingevaluations and creatingimprovement plans.
    • Participate in hiring processes including resume screening and interviewing.
    • Facilitate team meetings and best practice sharing.
    • Coach managers on employee relations issues.
    • Review timecards, approve schedules, and oversee leave management.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Nonprofit Management, or related field

    or experience.

    • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit or healthcare leadership.
    • Experience supervising staff and managing programs in a mental health or social-servicessetting.
    • Knowledge of mental health systems and trauma-informed care principles.
    • Ability to manage budgets, grants, and organizational processes.
    • Must live in LA County or be willing to relocate (relocation not provided)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with the National Alliance on Mental Illness mission and programs
    • Experience with county mental health contracts and grants.
    • Experience managing rapid organizational growth or change.

    Salary

    $90,000-$105,000 based on experience.
