Seasonal Cooking Staff

Overview

Hand in Hand is seeking a qualified individual to prepare meals for large groups of volunteers, grocery shop, and prep for meals. Individual will work directly with the director of the Auxier Program Center. Individual will be responsible for creating menus to prepare breakfast and dinner for large groups of volunteers of all ages. This position is seasonal with 40 hours in Spring, Summer, Fall and 24 hours in winter months

Duties

• Assist in meal preparation
• Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
• Serve food efficiently and courteously during meal times, ensuring a positive experience for volunteers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations.

Requirements

• Prior experience and proficiency in meal preparation are essential
• Must be able to list over 15 lbs.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling practices within the food industry.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Valid drivers license

This is a seasonal position where during our busy months of March - November is approx. 40 hours per week, and the other months are approx. 24 hours per week. Pay is $16/hour. This position does require a criminal background check.
