Description
The Program Director (PD) will be responsible for ensuring that all mentoring programs operate successfully. The ideal candidate for the PD position will be responsible for reporting, organizing, implementing, and coordinating mentoring services across communities in schools. The PD works extensively with YEMBA's program staff and school administration, while educating the community about the program and its benefits.
Duties & Responsibilities
Program Oversight
- Oversee program school sites and on premise activities
- Execute curriculum, offering updates and improvements when necessary
- Direct Program staff and supervise interns, interviewing and hiring when necessary
- Facilitate workshops and trainings for program staff and volunteers
- Liaison between organization and community, including owning relationships with school district administration, school staff, community organizations, etc.
- Attend and conduct outreach events
- Conduct staff meetings and events as required.
- Collect and approve staff timesheets on a bi-weekly basis
- Maintain knowledge current in the field but not limited to, participation in coursework, seminars, and workshops
- Operate professionally in the field on a flexible time schedule - YEMBA is on a 10am - 7pm M-TH, Friday short-day program schedule - and can include periodic late evening and weekend events.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Ensure that all program data is recorded daily and reported out via database and meetings
- Create weekly data reports, as well as contribute narrative detail for monthly, quarterly and year-end grant reports
- Evaluate programs on a regular scheduled basis to determine program quality, identify areas for improvement and create a plan to work towards quality improvement
- Perform program audits
- Report to the Board on programs on a monthly basis
Fundraising
- Participate in agency wide fundraising events.
- Encourage participants’ /community participation in agency wide fundraising events.
