FIELD INVESTIGATOR- Alameda

The Maintenance Cooperation Trust Fund (MCTF) is a watchdog organization that investigates violations of labor laws and other abuses in the janitorial industry. We work in cooperation with local, state and federal enforcement agencies to hold irresponsible employers accountable and assist workers in wage adjudication. The primary goal of the MCTF is to abolish unfair business practices within the janitorial industry by increasing labor law compliance amongst contractors and educating workers as to their rights.

MCTF is currently looking for a FIELD INVESTIGATOR based in Alameda and travels throughout California. This role is represented by BSSU/PNSWU with a 9-month probation period.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify & investigate labor law violations
• Develop supporting evidence of labor law violations
• Communicate with enforcement agencies
• Develop case strategy
• Develop worker meetings and trainings
• Maintain communication with claimants

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Familiarity and experience in the janitorial industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with basic computer programs
• At least one year experience with worker advocacy
• Ability to work long and irregular hours
• Driver’s license, car insurance and reliable car

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Bi-lingual Spanish/English

SALARY/BENEFITS

• $21.62/hr entry rate
