    Description

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Organizing Director will be responsible for assisting with organizational membership growth, training and managing staff, overseeing internal operations for the organization, helping to manage the financial health of the organization & strengthening the organization’s internal structures.This position reports to the Executive Director.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead grassroots organizing efforts to build power among immigrant, Black, and Latine workers on Chicago’s Southeast Side.
    • Develop strong relationships with community members, leaders, and partner organizations.
    • Recruit, train, and mentor organizers and emerging leaders.
    • Plan and implement campaigns advancing immigrant and workers’ rights and economic justice
    • Coordinate across CTU programs to align organizing, education, legal services, and cooperative development.
    • Track and evaluate organizing activities to inform strategy and document impact.
    • Represent CTU in public events, coalitions, and policy spaces.
    • Support the development and success of worker cooperatives through training and technical assistance.
    • Perform other duties as needed to support CTU’s mission.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of experience in community organizing, labor organizing, or social justice campaigns, preferably with immigrant or low-wage worker communities.
    • Proven experience leading and managing teams of organizers, volunteers, or community leaders.
    • Experience designing and implementing successful grassroots campaigns.
    • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills.
    • Innovative, creative and strong interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication ability
    • Basic computer skills
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish
    • Must have drivers license and reliable and consistent access to a vehicle
