Description
The Director of Marketing & Events will join our non-profit team to help develop, manage and market both the positive public profile and the charitable external events of SquashSmarts youth mentoring program.
Anticipated Start Date: August/September
Reports to: Director of Development
Core Responsibilities
Develop, implement and manage a year-round calendar of charitable events and promotional campaigns
Work with the Development staff and committee to create fundraising, event and marketing materials
Write, submit and track institutional and event sponsorship proposals and follow-up reports
Cultivate strong relationships with current and prospective institutional event sponsors and vendors
Cultivate strong relationships with local media to promote the organization and its programs
Raise the profile of the organization across all marketing, on-line platforms, and media materials
Develop and coordinate text/graphic/photo/video content for external events and communications
Manage the organization’s website, social media and event platforms and newsletters
Lead the Development team in the planning, execution and follow-up on all events and publicity, including: BestShotBall Charity Event; SquashSmarts Night @ US Open, Squash Night @ Phillies, etc
Track, report, analyze, and grow participation/attendance, sponsorships, media opportunities/impressions
Draft press releases, fact sheets, media and event advisories and other support materials
Generate positive publicity through media channels
Monitor in-market peer event and marketing activities
Assist with the promotion of student-related program initiatives and events
Manage sensitive issues to maintain non-profit’s respected reputation
Additional Requirements
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with confidence to serve as organizational spokesperson
A creative, collaborative, self-starting professional looking to help a small non-profit
Proven work experience as an events director, marketing director or similar role
Solid experience coordinating creative, succinct, successful messaging and events
Expertise in different technology and networks, including MS Teams, Fundraising Platforms, Social Media
Ability to foster long-term relationships with key community stakeholders and professionals
Hands on technical knowledge of CRMs and content design tools (e.g. Adobe suite of products)
BS in Non-profit Management, Events Management, Marketing, Communications or relevant field a plus
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office required; experience with SalesForce is plus
Must pass state and federal criminal background screenings
Must be physically capable of standing/sitting/moving for extended periods of time; tasks (lifting, exercising, coaching, tutoring, driving, etc.)
