The Senior Communications Director is a battle-tested campaign strategist and war-room leader who operates at the speed of political campaignnews cycles. Reporting to the CEO and servingon the Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Communications Director leads an aggressive, high-velocity communications engine designed to win votes, persuade targeted policymakers, and shape national narratives across federal and state battlegrounds. The Senior Director pivots instantly as news breaks, executing intra-day rapid response, deploying high-impact spokespeople, driving rapid-turnaround paid/earned/digital campaigns, and fiercely countering opponent narratives to advance ABIC’s mission and priorities.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactive Narrative Framing& Campaign Execution
- Proactively define and drive ABIC’s national and battleground narrative; develop offensive messaging playbooks designedto persuade targetedpolicymakers, sway fence-sitters, and win key legislative votes on immigration solutions.
- Transform communications operations into a high-velocity daily campaign apparatus, constantly injecting ABIC’s narrative positioning into fast-moving news cycles to dictate media coverage across targeted state and federal markets.
Rapid Response& "War-Room" Management
- Build and lead a nimble,"war-room" rapid-response capability to monitor breakingfederal/state legislative and political developments, instantly draft counter-messaging, issue reactive press statements, and position ABIC spokespeople during high-velocity news cycles.
- Direct real-time mediamonitoring to deploymessaging, statements, and op-eds continuously throughout the day to drive headlines and control the narrative as news develops.
Spokespeople Deployment & Management
- Build, train, and manage a rapid-deployment spokespeople group featuring businessCEOs, influencers, and bipartisan coalition voices.
- Ensure ABIC spokespeople are prepped, cleared,and deployed onto broadcast, print, radio, and digital outlets within minutes of news breaking across key battlegrounds.
Opposition Counter-Strategy & Narrative Defense
- Direct aggressive counter-messaging operations designed to neutralize opponenttalking points, dismantle hostile narratives, and support ABIC's priorities.
- Implement real-time digitaland media intelligence to track opponentcampaigns, identify narrative threats early, and launch immediate strategic counter-offensives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Campaign & War Room Record: Proven track record of executive leadership in senior level political or issue campaigns, high-stakes advocacy war rooms, or fast-paced legislative fights.
- Rapid Response Track Record: Demonstrated experience operating in high-pressure, rapid-response political or media environments, with a track record of driving headlinesand controlling narratives during fast-moving news cycles.
- Intra-Day Deployment Experience: Proven ability to manage dailymedia cycles, pre-clear
high-level surrogates, and executerapid response acrossTV, radio, digital,and print throughout the day.
- Legislative Persuasion Focus: Deep understanding of how to align communications strategy directly with vote-counting, policymaker persuasion, and constituency mobilization under tight deadlines.
