    Description

    The Growth Advisor (GA) is a key driver of Global Medical Brigades’ organizational growth strategy. This role focuses on prospecting, engaging, and converting new leads for all brigades. By leveraging targeted outreach, relationship-building, and strategic communication, the Growth Advisor ensures a steady pipeline of new volunteers and chapters that support the expansion of Global Medical Brigades’ impact worldwide.

    This is a high-energy, results-driven role ideal for someone passionate about volunteer engagement, motivated by measurable growth, and excited to build connections that inspire students to take action.

    Individual Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement

    • Proactively identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with individual volunteers interested in joining Global Medical Brigades programs across the U.S. and internationally.
    • Respond to and nurture inbound volunteer leads from the Global Brigades website, social media, referrals, and partner organizations, providing personalized guidance and follow-up.
    • Conduct targeted outreach (“spear-fishing”) to connect with pre-health and pre-med students, gap-year candidates, medical residents, and professionals seeking hands-on global health experiences.
    • Get creative in finding new ways to reach and recruit diverse types of volunteers, including under-grads, medical students, professionals, families, alumni, and non-traditional participants.
    • Leverage university networks, online platforms, and organizational partnerships to identify potential participants for upcoming brigades.
    • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective volunteers, clearly communicating Global Brigades’ mission, holistic model, and impact opportunities.
    • Maintain accurate records of volunteer communications, lead activity, and conversion stages in HubSpot CRM.

    Volunteer Nurturing, Retention & Conversion Support

    • Build and sustain strong relationships with prospective and current volunteers throughout the recruitment journey, providing timely, high-quality support and motivation.
    • Host virtual and in-person information sessions, presentations, and Q&A opportunities for individual volunteers and interested groups.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop tailored nurturing campaigns, email sequences, and digital content to inspire volunteer engagement.
    • Work closely with Program and Success Advisors to ensure seamless transitions from recruitment to brigade registration and participation.
    • Follow up with past individual volunteers to encourage continued engagement, either by joining another brigade or stepping into a leadership role within an existing or new chapter.
    • Track and report on volunteer retention and leadership conversion metrics to inform recruitment and engagement strategies.

    Partnership Development & Event Participation

    • Support recruitment efforts through partnerships with universities, pre-health clubs, community organizations, and medical networks.
    • Represent Global Medical Brigades at conferences, campus fairs, and other outreach events to connect directly with potential individual participants.
    • Collaborate with Global Brigades alumni, interns, and Student Advisory Board members to expand recruitment reach and amplify awareness of volunteer opportunities.

    CRM Management & Strategy

    • Manage all volunteer recruitment and engagement activities in HubSpot CRM, ensuring organized tracking and timely follow-up.
    • Help refine strategic workflows that improve lead nurturing and volunteer conversion efficiency.
    • Conduct quarterly analysis of recruitment trends, engagement metrics, and conversion data to inform strategy and optimize outreach.
    • Serve as a resource for CRM best practices and process improvements across the recruitment team.

    Qualifications:

    • Verbal and written fluency in English required
    • Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalency required
    • Previous experience with Global Brigades or other international volunteer programs preferred
    • Experience with CRM (Hubspot) preferred
    • Organized, with an ability to identify new projects and prioritize time-sensitive assignments
    • Must be comfortable with public speaking and confidence with engaging in groups (English)
    • Able to adhere to the organization’s virtual work environment policies and maintain regular, consistent working hours M-F
    • Strong communication skills; able to work in a virtual environment and adhere to virtual work policies
    • Strong passion and ability to communicate Global Medical Brigades’ model
    • Minimal travel to Global Brigades events as needed
    • Ability to present and disseminate information in a clear and concise way
    • Ability to match the Global Brigades voice, message, and branding guidelines
    • Demonstrate empathy and advocacy
    • Strong fluency in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meets, Google Slides)

    Compensation & Logistics:

    • Full time (40 hours per week)
    • Staff members must be based in a US time zone
    • Annual salary commensurate with experience
    • Receives work computer/subsidy
    • Reliable internet and the ability to work from home
    • 14 days paid time off annually, plus holidays
