    About MPDC: Madison Park Development Corporation (MPDC) is a 59-year old community development corporation (CDC) that serves the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. Our mission is to develop and preserve quality, mixed-income housing in Roxbury, and to promote the renaissance of Nubian Square as a thriving neighborhood business district, recognized as a center of commerce and culture that anchors the economic revitalization of Roxbury.     Position Description: The Communications & Marketing Manager is responsible for leading MPDC's external communications, storytelling, brand presence, and community engagement efforts. This role owns communications across digital, print, social media, website content, events, donor communications, and organizational campaigns. The ideal candidate combines strong writing ability, project management skills, creativity, and visual aesthetic judgment with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

    Responsibilities:

    Communications Strategy and Content

      • Develop and implement an annual communications strategy and content calendar.
      • Lead production of newsletters, email communications, donor communications, and organizational announcements.
      • Write and edit content across multiple channels and audiences.
      • Gather stories and content from staff, programs, and community stakeholders.

    Digital and Website Management

      • Manage website content and maintain accuracy, brand consistency, and engagement across digital channels.
      • Manage social media platforms, scheduling, and content calendars.
      • Monitor engagement metrics and identify opportunities for audience growth impact.
      • Track and report on communications performance across social media, email, website, and digital channels.

    Brand and Creative Management

      • Maintain and strengthen MPDC brand standards and visual consistency.
      • Coordinate with designers, photographers, printers, and other creative vendors.
      • Develop templates and communication tools that support staff and organizational initiatives.

    Events and Community Visibility

      • Support communications and promotion for fundraising events, community events, and organizational initiatives.
      • Coordinate media outreach and external visibility opportunities.

    Project Management and Internal Collaboration

      • Coordinate communication requests and priorities across departments.
      • Develop project timelines, manage deliverables, and improve communications workflows.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:*

    Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    Years of Experience: Required 3+ years / preferred 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit communications, digital marketing, or related fields, with increasing responsibility and ownership of communications initiatives.

    Skills:

      • Demonstrated experience developing communications strategies that produced measurable results.
      • Experience managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
      • Experience managing vendors and creative partners preferred.
      • Strong project management skills.
      • Strong visual and aesthetic judgment.
      • Experience with website, email marketing, social media, and content management platforms.
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
      • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and relationship-building abilities.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

      • Experience with website platforms, email marketing systems, social media tools, and content management platforms, including Canva, Adobe products, and related communications tools preferred.
