    About the role:

    The organization's Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme is a new strategic initiative aimed at improving the quality of education for children aged 36 years, particularly in Anganwadi centers. As a core member of the ECCE team, the Coordinator will play a key role in establishing, strengthening, and expanding this vital program.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    The Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the ECCE Program focused on improving the quality of early childhood education and play-based learning in Anganwadi centers.

    A. Program Planning and Implementation

    1. Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of the ECCE Program across the assigned state geography.
    2. Curriculum Implementation: Ensure the effective adoption and application of play-based, developmentally appropriate methods for children aged 36 years within Anganwadi centers.
    3. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the State ICDS department, local NGOs, and field teams to manage education operations and ensure alignment.

    B. Capacity Building and Content Expertise:

    1. Training Design: Design and deliver comprehensive and responsive capacity-building initiatives for frontline workers, especially Anganwadi Teachers.
    2. ECCE Expertise: Utilize strong expertise in ECCE curriculum design, content development, and early childhood pedagogy to guide program activities.
    3. Quality Improvement: Continuously assess program quality and drive improvements in early childhood education practices.

    Candidate Requirements

    Essential Qualifications and Experience:

    • Education: Postgraduate Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum 35 years
    • of relevant ECCE experience.
    • ECCE Practice: Proven experience working directly with children aged 36 years using play-based, developmentally appropriate methods.
    • Government/NGO Exposure: Experience working with the State ICDS department and managing education operations with NGOs.
    • Capacity Building: Proven experience in designing and delivering capacity-building initiatives for frontline workers.
    • Languages: Good Proficiency in Marathi is mandatory; basic English knowledge is required.
