    Description

    Summary: A motivated, skilled professional to provide regular donation pickups toward the operations of Central Union Mission. The candidate should have experience driving in the city and in customer service.

    Responsibilities:

    90% Donation Pick-Ups and Delivery

    • Reports to the Manager of Community Donations to keep on schedule and adjust when needed.
    • Pick up food donations daily from various suppliers on a scheduled basis from local and regional sites.
    • Build relationships with partners who donate regularly.
    • Load and unload food from trucks.
    • Ensure receipts (GIK) are completed legibly and documented properly when receiving donations.
    • All GIK (Gifts in Kind) forms completed and sent timely.
    • Work with WT men to ensure proper food handling and storage.
    • Perform and record a daily pre- and post- inspection of Mission truck.
    • Knowledgeable of Family Ministry programs to better assist both staff and participants.
    • Weekly deliveries to Mission NOVA in Arlington VA
    • Assist with special events & support other departments.

    10% Other

    • Supports Central Union Mission with donations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • Required ServSafe training
    • CDL preferred but not required.
    • Clean driving record required.
    • Experience driving within Washington Metro Area.
    • Able to read a map and use GPS technology.
    • Physically able to push, pull, and lift 25-50lbs
    • Reliable, flexible and dependable.
    • Employ adequate verbal and written communication skills.
    • Exercise good math and writing skills.
    • Ability to delegate and organize.
    • Certification food handler’s certification required.
    • Collablorate with CFRC team assisting co-workers, volunteers and program participants.
    • Communicates effectively with the public.
    • Demonstrate Christ-like attitude at all times.
    • Agreement with and commitment to Central Union Mission’s mission and Statement of Faith required. Committed Christian and currently active in a local Christian church required.
